An England star has taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to plead with Keir Starmer to get him home after he was left stranded in Dubai
An England star has pleaded with Keir Starmer after he’s bene left stranded in Dubai after Iran’s bombing in response to Donald Trump.
Jonny Bairstow, who is on holiday in Dubai with his family, took to social media to ask if the UK Prime Minister can “get us home”. The UK Government has warned British nationals to “shelter in place”.
Bairstow later said on X, formerly known as Twitter: “If anyone has any intel in Dubai please reach out. Keep safe.” The England Lions were also stuck in their hotel in Abu Dhabi on Sunday as the UAE experienced missiles.

The squad were warned not to leave their hotel as missile and drone strikes continued as their match against the Pakistan Shaheens was cancelled by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
While the England T20 team are facing uncertainty, as they’re due to fly home via Dubai,
A statement read: “The safety and security of our teams and staff is our top priority. We are in contact with security experts and the Government in relation to current events in the Middle East, and are following official advice.

“Tomorrow’s second 50-over game between England Men’s Lions and Pakistan Shaheens in Abu Dhabi will no longer go ahead, and we are delaying the departure of England Women for their proposed trip to Abu Dhabi next week.
“We will continue to monitor and assess the situation and official advice in relation to the future of these trips.
“England Men will travel to Mumbai for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup semi-final as planned.”
Dubai was hit by missiles across thew weekend, and its airport remains closed until further notice. A statement read: “Dubai Airports confirms that all flight operations at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central -Al Maktoum International (DWC) are suspended until further notice.
“Passengers must not travel to the airport and are advised to contact their directly for the latest flight updates.
“We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as soon as available.
