Meghan Markle branded ‘jealous and a scaremonger’ by senior royals
Lip-readers claim Prince Edward and Princess Anne made bombshell remarks about the Duchess of Sussex during King Charles’ coronation at Westminster Abbey

Two high-ranking royals seemed to make several explosive comments about Meghan Markle during King Charles’ coronation in 2023. Nearly every royal attended Charles’ coronation – the first in the UK for almost 70 years – however, one person noticeably missing was Meghan, Prince Harry’s wife.
Although she stated a need to be at her home with her two children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, in California, others speculated it was due to her lack of popularity in the UK, particularly since she had resigned from her role as a working royal alongside Harry in 2020.
Utilising “highly skilled” forensic lip-readers, of which there are only a handful in the country, Channel 5’s Lip-Reading the Royals revealed a conversation between Prince Edward and Princess Anne that suggested they weren’t too fond of the Duchess of Sussex.
Seated next to each other in Westminster Abbey, the siblings were believed to be discussing the current state of affairs within the royal family. One lip reader said she believes Edward commented: “They won’t know until they’ve broken up. We mustn’t let her get too comfy.”
Anne is then thought to have replied: “Meghan is very jealous and a scaremonger.”, reports the Express.
Offering his own analysis of the remarks, Royal Family commentator Dickie Arbiter said: “Meghan has always been jealous, jealous of other members of the family, so I can understand how the family reacts to Meghan. There’s no love lost between them, and nor will there be.”
The lip reader revealed that both Edward and Anne chuckled, before she continued: “I’ve made sure that she knows that I’m idiot-proof.”
The Duke of Edinburgh then retorted: “We shall continue to ignore, but it’s the most effective way for removing the unwanted,” before Anne added: “We have amounted that there is a disconnection.”
TV host Cristo Foufas exclaimed: “I’m absolutely blown away that during this coronation, they’re having these sorts of conversations within earshot of each other. It’s unbelievable to me.”
Royal enthusiast Jo Taylor interpreted this as Edward and Anne predicting that Prince Harry and Meghan would eventually part ways, labelling it “crazy”. “They clearly don’t like her, and are waiting for them to split up. But where’s the support for Harry and that then?” she further commented.
Former EastEnders actress Nina Wadia confessed she found it “shocking”, but said it made her realise just how much Meghan is disliked within the Royal Family. “I’m just a bit speechless because of how blatant it is and how it is spoken about in that way,” the star expressed.
Cristo added: “These are secret conversations, well, that aren’t so secret, because they’re clearly happy to have them under the public gaze.”
