AngryGinge left Susanna Reid wincing after taking a brutal swipe at Ed Balls live on Tuesday’s episode of Good Morning Britain

The streamer, 24, Loose Women star GK Barry, 26, and former England and Manchester City captain Steph Houghton, 37, appeared in the studio to talk to Susanna, 55, Ed, 59, and entertainment editor Richard Arnold, 56, about the upcoming annual Soccer Aid event.

Ed managed to show off his skills on the show by completing two successful headers in the studio.

Susanna told the trio: ‘I would just like to point out, if you have a whole in the squad, Ed Balls is absolutely desperate to take part.’

A very sad Ed explained: ‘They never picked me. They never picked me.’

She asked: ‘Could he be on the bench? If you just grab the ball and give him a try out… where has the ball gone?’

As Susanna got up to find the football, AngryGinge asked if he would be able to do kick-ups in his smart shoes, and Ed told them: ‘Can I just say, I had a trial for Wolves when I was 11!’

AngryGinge brutally asked him: ‘Right, and how old are you now mate?’

The former I’m A Celebrity star’s comment left the whole studio in stitches, with even the camera crew heard stifling laughs.

Ed replied: ‘Older than that!’

Earlier on in the interview, Richard dubbed Ginge ‘man of the match’ and then asked him: ‘Back for more?’

Ginge replied: ‘Absolutely. It’s an amazing event. Love it. 31st of May, tickets on sale now. You get to meet people, for me, personally, you grew up watching and raise a lot of money for a great cause.’

Ed asked: ‘Why were you man of the match?’

Ginge cheekily replied: ‘Well, where shall I start?’

He continued: ‘So I cleared it off the line, that was at the start. Then I crunched Carlos Tevez.’

Susanna pointed out: ‘You see, that is what is so exciting. Isn’t it. You are playing alongside legends.

‘People that you might have watched, people that you can’t imagine you’d ever be on a team bus with!’

Ed chimed in: ‘A former England captain, like Steph.’

Steph added: ‘He deserved his man of the match award.’

Ed asked: ‘For the tackle or for the clearance?’ to which Steph confessed: ‘For the tackle, we liked the tackle, best one.’

An intrigued Susanna asked: ‘But Steph, is it frustrating as an actual football player, passing to peple that have got absolutely zero chance of scoring a goal?’

Steph told the broadcaster: ‘You know what, it’s not frustrating. Honestly, we’re like one, it’s just the best 3/4 days together.

‘We train, we do loads of media work, all for the most amazing cause.

‘The most important thing is that we have fun, so when it comes to the match day, honestly it’s just the most surreal experience.’

The presenters were keen to find out who she would pass to out of Ginge and GK Barry, and Steph revealed: ‘I’ve seen the celebrations as well, but I am going to have to go AngryGinge.’

A shocked GK said: ‘Okay, that’s fine. I am the underdog.’

GK and AngryGinge aren’t the only famous faces taking part this year.

Adolescence actor Owen Cooper has become the youngest ever star to be selected for Soccer Aid’s 20th anniversary game.

Owen, 16, will join 32 players including GK, Tom Hiddleston, Robbie Williams and AngryGinge on the pitch on Sunday May 31, at London Stadium.

The stellar line-up was announced on Tuesday for the annual football match, held in aid of UNICEF

Of taking part, the actor said: I’m incredibly proud to be playing at Soccer Aid for UNICEF in its twentieth anniversary year.

‘I wasn’t even born when the first Soccer Aid took place but I’m a big fan. Becoming the youngest player to take part is a real honour and I’m excited to step out at the London Stadium.

‘This event raises vital funds to help children grow up safe, healthy and able to play – and I’m grateful to be part of such an important cause.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
