‘Dangerously seductive’ new thriller about lethal romance is now streaming without spending a dime – as critics reward it for ‘exploring the road between lust and obsession’

A new thriller series about a romance that turns deadly and dubbed ‘dangerously seductive’ by fans is now available to stream for free. 

The Korean drama, which stars Netflix‘s Squid Game actor Wi Hyun-yi, known professionally as Wi Ha Jun, has been released on Prime Video. 

Siren’s Kiss, which also stars popular K-drama actress, Marry My Husband’s Park Min-young, has been described as a ‘high-stakes fatal romance thriller’ that sees a lust-filled duo stuck in a game of cat-and-mouse than borders on obsession. 

It follows auctioneer Han Seol-ah, played by Park, as she is suspected of murder after her former lovers begin to die in a series of suspicious circumstances. 

Insurance fraud investigator Cha Woo-seok, played by Wi, is soon assigned the case and has to begin digging into their mysterious deaths.

‘After her colleague dies and her past lovers are revealed to share the same fate, he suspects she may be a victim.

‘Posing as lovers to uncover the truth, they discover shared wounds and are drawn into art forgery, insurance fraud, and murders born of greed and obsession.’

Prime Video added that the drama is a ‘perilous psychological game’ with an ‘irresistible yet deadly attraction at its core’. 

The first episode hit screens on Prime Video yesterday (March 2), with the second following today and more to come every Monday and Tuesday until all eight episodes have hit screens. 

Speaking to Variety about the drama, Park teased of her character: ‘Han Seol-ah is a woman who has emotionally stopped nourishing herself. Surrounded by repeated tragedy, she survives on water and alcohol alone.’

Meanwhile, Wi, who admitted to reading the show’s script in one sitting, added: ‘Although the series is dense and filled with tension, it also carries warmth and a sense of human compassion.

‘I wanted each movement to reveal his emotional state, his mindset, and his relationship with the person he is facing.’

Both critics and fans have gone wild over the series since its release, giving it a decent 7.7/10 on review site IMDb.

Meanwhile, The Guardian wrote: ‘A creepy South Korean thriller that explores the line between lust and obsession, via the medium of the high-end art market.’

It come after a thriller series described as ‘exceptional’ and featuring yet another Squid Games star has soared up the Netflix charts – as viewers admit they have been left ‘hooked.’

Eight-part mystery The Art Of Sarah has proved popular among the streamer’s audience since its release earlier this month. 

The South Korean show follows an ambitious woman named Sarah Kim, who is determined to live a life of luxury – but her entire identity is based around lies.

A body believed to be Sarah’s is discovered in a Seoul sewer, prompting Detective Park Mu-Gyeong to investigate.

He subsequently uncovers discrepancies in her background, as well as evidence suggesting she has lived under multiple identities.

As this continues, Sarah’s carefully constructed life begins to fall apart, and the ramifications of her long-term deceit come to light. 

Since hitting the streaming service, the drama has reached number four on Netflix’s coveted global Top 10 most-watched chart.

‘The story was really well portrayed but as you go through each episode it makes sense why she did what she did. Overall satisfied with the ending.

Another commented: ‘Excellent and intelligent suspense, with a plot that keeps you engaged and intrigued from beginning to end.

Praised as ‘sublime’, How To Get To Heaven From Belfast‘ has been described as the perfect example of a ‘sharp, dark comedy’ as three best pals go on a road trip to find out what really happened to their ‘dead’ friend. 

The show’s Netflix synopsis reads: ‘When their old friend dies, three best pals embark on a dark, dangerous and hilarious odyssey in this crime series created by Lisa McGee (“Derry Girls“).

The streaming service added: ‘Sometimes all you need to crack a mystery is some deadly craic.’

Following its release on February 12, the eight-part series has rocketed to the fourth place on the UK Netflix chart. 

The show has also performed well critically, with a score of 7.5 out of 10 on IMDb and an even more impressive rating of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.
