Liverpool information: Mohamed Salah handed ‘horrible’ verdict as massive warning despatched to Arne Slot
Liverpool suffered a damaging 2-1 defeat to bottom club Wolves on Tuesday and the Reds will face the same opponents again in the FA Cup fifth round on Friday
Liverpool’s shocking 2-1 loss to bottom of the table Wolves has once again left Reds manager Arne Slot under huge pressure.
The reigning Premier League champions crashed to another embarrassing defeat this season after conceding a late stoppage time goal at Molineux. And history could repeat itself on Friday as the Reds once more travel to Wolves, in the fifth round of the FA Cup, knowing that another loss would plunge the club into a fresh crisis.
Several of Slot’s stars faced criticism after the defeat, including Mohamed Salah, who was handed a particularly scathing assessment from a former Reds legend. And the Merseysiders have been handed a warning ahead of the encounter, as things go from bad to worse this campaign. Here’s all the latest news from Anfield.

Mohamed Salah criticised
Despite Mohamed Salah breaking his 10-game goal drought in the Premier League against Wolves, his overall display attracted criticism, reports the Mirror.
It was another woeful showing on the flanks by Salah and Cody Gakpo as their failure to beat opponents and absence of pace meant the Reds once more had precious little to provide on the wings.
The statistics were damning as despite unleashing 19 attempts, Liverpool managed merely seven on target with only one reaching the back of the net and rather fortunately as Salah’s effort materialised through an error by Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Reds legend Steve Nicol acknowledged Salah contributed to the “horrible” decision-making Liverpool’s attacking players displayed throughout the match. Speaking on ESPN, the former Scotland international said: “In the final third, the decision was just horrible.
“The one we showed in the highlight with Mo Salah… although he scored the goal, the goalie should’ve saved it and he really didn’t contribute anything again all evening.
“I could sit here for 10 minutes and say everything that has gone wrong but [Tuesday] was a microcosm of what’s gone wrong all season; poor decision-making, the front three done not much at all and defensively, you concede two goals from two shots.”
Wolves star’s warning
Rodrigo Gomes delivered a standout performance in the remarkable triumph at Molineux as his clever finish beyond Alisson Becker gave his team the lead.
The Portuguese ace bagged his third strike of the campaign in the encounter and afterwards, he issued a warning to the struggling champions ahead of their Friday clash.
The sides meet once more in the Black Country, this time in the FA Cup fifth round as Gomes encouraged his teammates to maintain their form whilst insisting they can secure another triumph against Slot’s outfit.
Following the final whistle, he declared: “Liverpool again, here with our fans. We need to do the same, and if we play this, if we show this belief and quality, we have a good chance to win the game.”
