Landlord who ‘killed and dismembered tenant’ caught after dicing physique elements into containers

A landlord has allegedly confessed to killing his tenant and chopping the victims body up into little pieces and putting them in small containers

A landlord has been arrested on suspicion of murder after being accused of killing and chopping up a tenant of one of his properties. The man, 50, was held by cops after human remains were found in bin bags during a search of his house.

Cops made the grim discovery on tarpaulin and in containers after the victim’s aunt raised the alarm after growing concerned about about that he had disappeared.

She had previously gone to the property to see him and became worried when he didn’t answer the door despite his vehicle still being at the home in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis.

A police source claimed the owner of the property confessed to killing his tenant over a dispute dating back to the end of last month, local news site 20 Minutes reports

The news outlet also reports the man is said to have dismembered the body of his tenant – believed to be in his thirties – and placing them in rubbish bags.

The suspect was carrying an identity document that did not belong to him, and a search has been launched to locate the person matching that identity, local media reports.

Le Parisien reports police believe the murder took place at the two story house in the Bel Air villa complex sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Cops are said to have found “human remains lying on a blood-stained tarpaulin, a human torso in a plastic box, and a head in the bathroom matching the victim’s physical description”, a police source told the paper.

Unidentified meat was also found in a saucepan. A kitchen knife and pruning shears were also recovered at the scene, it was reported. Police were called at around 12.30am on Tuesday and were on the scene within minutes, when they found the dismembered body.

According to his statements, there was a fight involving tools during which the landlord allegedly knocked the tenant unconscious. A police source said: “Not knowing what to do, the landlord was dismembering the body to transport it.”

The investigation also revealed a troubling element: a national identity card found on the suspect did not appear to belong to him. A search has been launched to locate this person, so far without success.

The Bobigny prosecutor’s office confirmed to Le Parisien that an investigation has been opened for “murder and desecration of a corpse.” It has been entrusted to the Seine-Saint-Denis departmental judicial police service.
