Manhunt is launched after girl, 71, is discovered ‘murdered at residence’ in London
A murder investigation is underway after a 71-year-old woman was found dead in her home.
Police and paramedics were called to the woman’s home in Hounslow, west London on Sunday morning where she was discovered ‘with significant injuries’.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Forensic investigators continue to work the home which remains a crime scene as officers appeal for witness to come forward.
So far there have been no arrests in connection with the death.
The woman’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby, who is leading the investigation, said: ‘This is a tragic incident in which a woman has lost her life.
‘We are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened and we are keeping an open mind to pursue all lines of inquiry.
‘We urge anyone who was in the area of Bath Road, who may have seen or heard anything unusual, to come forward.
‘Even small pieces of information can prove vital.
‘Extra patrols will be carried out in the local area to provide reassurance to residents.
