Brits caught in Dubai evaluate journey chaos to Covid pandemic: ‘How long can this go on for?’

A pair of Britons who are stuck in Dubai have compared the travel chaos to that seen during the coronavirus pandemic.
Chloe Butland, 27, who was on an extended layover in the UAE city following a back tripping trip, was at Dubai International Airport on 28 February when the conflict began.
It took her four hours to leave the airport after hearing a tannoy announcement that all flights had been suspended, and since then, she has been unable to return home.
Comparing the ongoing travel chaos to scenes scenes during the pandemic, Butland told The Independent: “I think the general vibe is quite similar to COVID where sometimes everything kind of feels okay and then sometimes you’re like ‘oh God, this is gonna be really bad’. I think the other thing that’s quite similar to COVID is thinking ‘How long is this going to go on for?’”
