Trump warns Iran of ‘full destruction and sure demise’ as conflict tensions rise

Donald Trump vowed to continue military action against Iran as he declared the nation to be the ‘loser of the Middle East’ following Iran’s apology to Middle East neighbours

Donald Trump has sternly warned Iran “will be hit very hard” today, whilst issuing a chilling threat as the conflict in the Middle East escalates. Labelling Iran as the “loser of the Middle East”, the US leader seemed to allude to remarks made by the Iranian president earlier.

Speaking on Iranian state television, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued an apology to its neighbouring countries. He stated: “I deem it necessary to apologise to neighbouring countries that were attacked.”

The Iranian president had earlier said that a demand by the United States for an unconditional surrender is a “dream that they should to take to their grave”.

In response Trump said that Iran “has apologised and surrendered to its Middle East neighbours, and promised that it will not shoot at them anymore.” He added that “this promise was only made because of the relentless U.S. and Israeli attack”.

His full post on Truth Social read: “Iran, which is being beat to HELL, has apologised and surrendered to its Middle East neighbours, and promised that it will not shoot at them anymore. This promise was only made because of the relentless U.S. and Israeli attack.

“They were looking to take over and rule the Middle East. It is the first time that Iran has ever lost, in thousands of years, to surrounding Middle Eastern Countries.

“They have said, ‘Thank you President Trump,’ I have said, ‘You’re welcome!’ Iran is no longer the ‘Bully of the Middle East,’ they are, instead, ‘THE LOSER OF THE MIDDLE EAST,’ and will be for many decades until they surrender or, more likely, completely collapse!

“Today Iran will be hit very hard! Under serious consideration for complete destruction and certain death, because of Iran’s bad behavior, are areas and groups of people that were not considered for targeting up until this moment in time.

“Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Mr Pezeshkian made the statement in a pre-recorded address aired by Iranian state television.

He also apologised for Iran’s attacks on regional countries, insisting that Tehran would halt them and suggesting they were caused by miscommunication in the ranks.

The comments came as intense Iranian fire targeted the Gulf Arab states on Saturday morning as Israel and the United States kept up their air strikes targeting the Islamic Republic.

There were repeated attacks on Saturday morning on Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

In Dubai, several blasts were heard on Saturday morning and the government said it had activated air defences.

Passengers waiting for flights out at Dubai International Airport, the world’s busiest for international travel, found themselves ushered down into train tunnels at the sprawling airfield after the alert sounded.

Later that morning, long-haul carrier Emirates resumed operations, after briefly suspending all flights to and from Dubai.

Authorities have not explained if there was an interception or damage at the airport.

US officials also warned of a forthcoming bombing campaign they said would be the most intense yet in the week-long conflict.
