Teen ladies lured to deserted constructing on prime of mountain, sexually harassed and dumped
The man, helped by two accomplices, allegedly tricked the two girls into joining him on a trip to an abandoned building, before harrassing and leaving them on a mountain
A man has been arrested and placed in “physical detention” for allegedly abducting and sexually harassing two teenage girls before abandoning them on a remote mountain.
The two girls, both aged 14, are believed to have been approached by the man online. He allegedly persuaded the pair to join him in a visit to an abandoned building found in the remote, mountainous Uiijeongbu District of South Korea.
Instead, the teens were sexually harassed before being abandoned at the top of a mountain in the middle of the night.
Soyosan mountain, where the girls were left, is nearly 2000ft tall, and in October, nighttime temperatures can reach as low as -3C.
The arrested man is believed to have been helped by two accomplices, who were present throughout the alleged crime. At least one of the men involved is believed to have been filming throughout the incident.
According to an earlier story published in Korea last month, the girls were brought to an abandoned sexual health clinic that was built by the government in the aftermath of the Korean War to treat sex workers who had been in contact with U.S. troops.
According to reports, one of the girls made a frantic call to police, saying: “I got into a stranger’s car, and they’re trying to leave me here.”
One of the men involved is believed to have told police that he abandoned the girls “because it was funny to see people panic and get flustered in the dark.”
Uiijeongbu District Prosecutors have accused the suspect and his two accomplices of abduction of a minor and violating the Child Welfare Act.
The two accomplices, one in his 20s and the other a teen, have been indicted without arrest.
Prosecutors took over the case on Feb. 10. While conducting forensic analysis of the suspects’ phones, they found the suspects had apparently committed similar crimes in the past, according to local reports.
“Despite his claim that it was a prank, targeting minors with little social experience is itself a crime and could easily lead to a serious accident,” an officer said.
