Tehran in flames after US and Israeli strikes as Trump points new warning
The US and Israel have launched devastating strikes on Iran’s capital Tehran, with massive columns of fire seen above the city as the Middle East war enters its second week
Iran’s capital, was engulfed in enormous flames overnight as the US and Israel initiated a new wave of devastating strikes. Israel’s military confirmed it executed new strikes that rattled neighbourhoods in Tehran, as the Middle Eastern conflict enters its second week.
Tehran’s skyline transformed into an unsettling red hue as vast pillars of fire towered above the capital. Smoke shrouded the surrounding cityscape whilst residents reported a persistent burnt scent in the air.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced it had targeted “several fuel storage complexes” in Iran’s capital, a claim later verified by the country’s National Iranian Oil Company.
In a statement, the IDF declared it had acted on intelligence to strike oil depots managed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
It stated that the Iranian regime utilised the depots to distribute fuel to military forces throughout the region, reports the Express.
The IDF further added: “strike significantly deepens the damage to the military infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime.”
One resident of Tehran described the night sky as being so brightly lit by fiery orange flames from the intense overnight fires that it felt “as if night had turned into day.”
Another resident reported witnessing a “red light and everywhere was alight” following the strikes.
Saturday’s bombardment of crucial Iranian infrastructure occurred as US President Donald Trump hinted the confrontation with Iran might conclude only when the nation’s military and leadership were entirely destroyed.
Addressing journalists on Air Force One, Trump declared: “At some point, I don’t think there will be anybody left maybe to say ‘We surrender’.”
Taking aim at Keir Starmer, the US leader also posted on Truth Social claiming America didn’t require the UK’s two aircraft carriers in the Middle East.
Asserting the US have “already won”, he stated the UK was once their “Greay Ally”.
He posted: “The United Kingdom, our once Great Ally, maybe the Greatest of them all, is finally giving serious thought to sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East.
“That’s OK, Prime Minister Starmer, we don’t need them any longer – But we will remember. We don’t need people that join Wars after we’ve already won!”.
