The moment the sun comes out, it starts feeling like Aperol spritz season – but for various reasons, many Brits are seeking more ways to cut down or completely remove alcohol from their lives. This doesn’t mean that individuals need to forego their preferred drinks or cocktails, and one company has a solution .
Smiling Wolf’s ‘Feel Good’ Functional Spirits, which are non-alcoholic with 0.5% ABV , aim to introduce ‘more sophisticated evening serves’, delivering the thrill without the tipple. One of its popular spirits, the Aperitivo , is currently available on Amazon for £26.55, down from £29.50.
As per the brand’s website, this alcohol-free Aperol alternative is crafted from 18 different Mediterranean herbs and bitters, making it ideal for a spritz or negroni. It’s distilled from original spirits ingredients and made with Italian wine, but there’s no alcohol, no crash and no hangover afterwards, plus it’s low in sugar and suitable for vegans, the site states.

The brand’s beverages are created using original spirit ingredients and mixed with vitamins and a natural ‘Feel Good Blend’ of nootropics – supplements known to boost cognitive function , memory, creativity, and motivation. They’re reported to give consumers a feeling of tranquillity, steady energy and clarity by releasing dopamine, serotonin, GABA and endorphins, reports the Daily Record .
To whip up a spritz with the Aperitivo, Amazon’s product description suggests combining 50ml of the Smiling Wolf spirit with 75ml of alcohol-free sparkling wine, plus 50ml of soda and ice cubes, finished with an orange wedge for garnish.

The team behind Smiling Wolf’s creation previously worked on Tanqueray 10, Baileys and Purdey’s. According to the brand, it marries the authenticity of traditional spirits know-how with a philosophy tailored for today’s wellness-focused, moderation-seeking drinker.

One enthusiast shared: “Was initially looking for an option for the Christmas dinner to make a spritz/negroni on the light side, as this time of the year it’s a bit too boozy (for me) so I like to pace myself… tried the Smiling Wolf and BINGO!
