Iconic Daily Star Lettuce joins Cameo – here is how one can get a personalised message
The Daily Star’s world-famous “Lettuce Liz Truss” is now available for birthday wishes and pep talks – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Our crunchy legend, whose livestream outlasted her namesake’s tenure as prime minister, can be booked for just £37 on web platform Cameo. She is the ideal candidate to be a fresh voice on the website, where celebs like the US Office star Brian Baumgartner have made millions by sending short videos to punters.
And fans can request word salads like her namesake deluded ex-PM, who lasted just 49 days in Downing Street and has since started spreading weird conspiracy theories in her own online video channel.
Lizzy Lettuce’s bio states: “I’m Lizzy, the official Daily Star icon! I outlasted a British PM, and now I’m here to help you romaine calm and carry on. Book me for a shoutout that’s crisp, fresh, and slightly un-be-leaf-able!”
The leafy veg, livestreamed to see if it would outlast Truss’s time in No10 in 2022, quickly went viral and captured the hearts of the nation, which was keen to see the back of the flop PM.
And it was declared “victorious” when Britain’s shortest-serving PM quit after just 49 days.
Since then, it has been immortalised by film chiefs in a national archive and even hailed as a “political legend” by Green Party leader Zack Polanski.
Lettuce Liz will join other political figures on the platform such as Nigel Farage, who was recently tricked into paying tribute to dead Lostprophets paedophile Ian Watkins.
Big moneymakers include UK No1 James Buckley, better known to fans as Jay Cartwright in The Inbetweeners, who has raked in millions recording messages from bed.
To book a personalised message from the salad staple, fans simply have to click here and fill in a few details to receive their very own bespoke message from the world’s most famous lettuce.
Ben Rankin, Daily Star Editor-in-Chief, said: “The lettuce hasn’t left the public consciousness and the country still loves it.
“We recently saw how much joy Cameo can bring to people when we spoke to co-founder Martin Blencowe, so we thought we’d take a leaf out of his book and let fans record their own messages with our beloved icon.
“Be sure to lettuce know how you get on.”
