NEED TO KNOW: Neighbour spots ‘suspicious’ figure near missing TV host mum’s home
- A neighbour has revealed she spotted a “suspicious” figure lurking near the home of missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie on the day she vanished.
- Nancy, mum of popular American TV host Savannah Guthrie, disappeared on February 1 sparking a massive nationwide search. The mystery surrounding her disappearance has deepened with this latest eyewitness account.
- The unnamed neighbour, who was close to Nancy and often walked with her, told NewsNation she saw the dodgy bloke acting strangely. “I’m getting ready in the morning, and I saw him out there, so I couldn’t make out his face,” she revealed.
- She described the suspicious character as wearing “street clothes, not shoes that you’d walk in” with “a baseball hat really low” and said “he was kind of hunched over, and he was kind of looking around, and he just didn’t fit.”
- The neighbour said the man wasn’t walking normally like someone getting exercise but was “going slowly” and “when he walked by this street, he really took a long look at it.” She’s already spoken to the FBI about the sighting.
- Police have released security footage from Nancy’s Google Nest cameras showing a masked figure in gloves and a backpack approaching her home. It’s unclear if this person is connected to the suspicious man the neighbour spotted.
- Desperate daughter Savannah has made an emotional plea on Instagram for anyone involved to come forward, posting: “Please – be the one that brings her home.”
