Tucker Carlson offers unhinged definition of what ‘unconditional surrender’ means for Iran

Conservative media personality Tucker Carlson warned that President Donald Trump’s demands for “unconditional surrender” from Iran could lead to grave consequences — including the outrageous claim that it would permit troops to rape women and girls.

Hours after Trump insisted he would not accept anything less than unconditional surrender from Iran Friday, Carlson asserted on his show, The Tucker Carlson Show, that “unconditional surrender means foreign troops get to rape your wife and daughter, if they want.”

“If there’s one consistent lesson of history, it means unconditional surrender means foreign troops get to rape your wife and daughter. Everyone can feel that,” the former Fox News anchor told his guest, Saagar Enjeti

Carlson went on the claim the U.S. would “require, presumably, nuclear weapons” to achieve an unconditional surrender, as the Iranians would “do anything” to avoid crimes against women.

“And let’s not lie to ourselves, we’re heading toward that,” he added.

Enjeti, the co-host of the podcast Breaking Point, also voiced concern about Trump demanding “unconditional surrender.” He recalled how historic examples of it, such as in World War II, required massive use of force against the Axis powers, leading to more death and destruction.

“Let’s remember unconditional surrender and what it takes. It takes the bloody urban conflict and invasion of Europe in the Battle of Berlin. It takes dropping atomic bombs in Japan,” Enjeti said.

Carlson, a staunch ally of Trump, has been publicly critical of the recent attacks on Iran, using his platform to air concerns that Trump is not leading with his “America First” policy.

Last week, Trump said Carlson was “not MAGA” after the podcaster called the joint U.S.-Israeli strikes “absolutely disgusting and evil.” Despite the president’s harsh words, Carlson said “I’ll always love him no matter what he says about me.”

Other Trump allies have echoed skepticism or disapproval of the Iran war, including former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. On Friday, Greene accused Trump of turning MAGA “into MIGA [Make Iran Great Again],” and said that she’d back Carlson to run for president.

“Tucker would beat Trump if he ran for President and Trump tried to violate the constitution and tried to run again for a third term,” she wrote.

Carlson reportedly met with Trump in the Oval Office to advocate against the military attack, the New York Times reported earlier this month.

When asked what “unconditional surrender” of Iran meant to him, Trump told reporters it meant the country’s military would be “rendered useless.”
