Former TV presenter marries herself in weird ceremony with star-studded visitor checklist

A former TV presenter has married herself in a bizarre ceremony with a star-studded guest list. Silvia Corzo donned a lacy cream-coloured wedding dress as she stood alone at the front of the congregation and wed herself.
Her son Pablo Toro walked her down the aisle. Silvia, who used to be a lawyer and journalist, said at the altar: “Today, I choose myself. I say yes to life and I say yes to myself.
“To always be there for myself, not just with words, but with my whole being. I promise to take care of myself, to listen to myself and never abandon myself again.
“I don’t want an idealised forever for myself, I want to be here for myself and by myself when things get tough. I want to be in a place where I don’t have to apologise for being who I am.”
Silvia, who now works as a lecturer and life coach, emphasised that her symbolic wedding does not mean she is closing the door on a possible romance with a partner in the future.
She explained: “I choose to love myself so I can love better. If I ever walk hand in hand with someone again, it will be to share my life from a place of freedom, truth, and respect for who I am.
“Today I am making myself visible to myself because I know that I was already visible to you all.”
Her son said: “I want you to know that I’m very proud of what you’re doing. Choosing yourself might sound easy, but it isn’t, and what you’re doing is very brave, and I admire you so much.
“Just as you’ve seen me grow up, I’ve also seen you grow up, and I’ve seen my mum transform. “Thank you for being a teacher in my life, for teaching me to live without fear and to be myself.”
TV presenters Iván Lalinde and Margarita Ortega were among a host of Colombian celebrities present at the ceremony.
Silvia, who comes from the Colombian city of Bucaramanga, is best remembered as the anchor for the news programmes Séptimo Día and Noticias Caracol. She stepped away from TV in 2017, citing chronic fatigue, anxiety, and a lack of fulfilment.
Now, she stages conferences and masterclasses across Latin America on topics such as stress management, emotional intelligence, and mindset change. It’ unclear if the marriage was consummated.
