For sail! 150-year-old working windmill is in the marketplace for £875,000 – that is £100,000 much less dough than its unique worth
A 150-year-old working windmill – one of only 40 left in the country – has had its price slashed after failing to find new owners.
The historic Grade II Listed is being sold alongside a four-bedroom home, a wood-fire bakery, a tea room and stone outbuildings.
Mount Pleasant Windmill was originally put on the market for £975,000 last March after the owners of the business decided to retire.
However, the owners have taken £100,000 off the asking price in a bid to sell the unique property in Kirton-In-Lindsey, Lincolnshire.
It is situated comfortably within an acre plot of land close to the established market town, where the business was known for its breadmaking from flour still made by the mill.
Mount Pleasant Windmill is an established landmark loved by locals originally constructed in 1875 as a working flour mill.
It was powered by wind until 1933 until a diesel engine took over until 1973, before the windmill fell out of service.
Since 2000, the present owners – who ran a successful bakery business in London – have been restoring the mill, keeping true to tradition with authentic working parts and locally sourced materials.

All the facilities are in currently place to continue the business or convert it to a different operation if the new owners wish.
There are also two traditional stone outbuildings that could be rented out or used as accommodation for staff.
The main house, front car park and back garden are on separate land registry but within the same plot.
Inside there is a living room with a working fireplace and a kitchen with a breakfast area that has access straight through to the tearooms.
