  • A blast has rocked a Jewish school in Amsterdam in what authorities are calling a deliberate antisemitic attack.
  • Amsterdam mayor Femke Halsema branded the early Saturday morning explosion a “cowardly act of aggression against the Jewish community.” No casualties were reported but police are examining CCTV footage showing the bomber.
  • The attack struck an affluent residential area on Amsterdam’s south side, with damage contained by swift emergency response.
  • “Jewish people in Amsterdam are increasingly confronted with antisemitism. This is unacceptable,” Ms Halsema declared.
  • Security has been ramped up at Jewish institutions following recent synagogue attacks in Rotterdam, Belgium, and Michigan where a gunman was shot dead after driving into a building housing 140 children.
  • The incidents come amid heightened global tensions following US-Israeli strikes on Iran, with Donald Trump boasting of “obliterating” Iranian targets and claiming Iran “wants a deal” after their “total defeat.”
