Huge gang of masked males raid California jewellery retailer and make off with $1.7m in simply 70 seconds

Surveillance footage shows a gang of robbers raiding a California jewelry store where they made off with $1.7m in just over a minute.

Almost 20 masked and hooded individuals flooded Kumar Jewelers in Fremont in June 2025, in what authorities described as a “’mob-style takeover”.

Footage released by the Department of Justice shows the suspects armed with pickaxes and hammers as they raided the store, stealing gold, diamonds, and other jewelry in a 70-second raid.

Two gunmen held a security guard hostage until the last thief left the building, after which the getaway cars sped off.

After officers successfully pursued one of the getaway cars, four men aged between 19 and 20 were arrested. Police have not detained anyone else suspected of being involved in the raid.
