Iran vows revenge over safety chief assassination as Tehran unleashes missile barrage on Israel and Gulf nations: Live updates

Iran has today vowed to seek revenge following the assassination of its security chief with a barrage of missiles fired at Israel and at its Gulf neighbours.
Iranian army chief Amir Hatami has threatened to launch what he described as a ‘decisive and regrettable’ retaliation for the killing of Ali Larijani in an Israeli airstrike.
Separately, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said it had launched missiles at Israel ‘in revenge for the blood of martyr Dr Ali Larijani and his companions’. Two people were killed near Tel Aviv today bringing the total number of deaths in Israel to 14 since the start of the war.
Meanwhile, Israel’s military has bombed a high-rise building in Beirut as it continues its assault on Hezbollah militants in the capital and in southern Lebanon.
Elsewhere the UAE and Saudi Arabia have intercepted drones and missiles fired from Tehran as Iran presses on with its retaliatory campaign across the Gulf.
And Donald Trump insists the US does not help from any countries in the Iran war as the President unleashed an extraordinary outburst in the White House railing at NATO, Sir Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron.
