Manchester Airport fireplace as crews rush to runway after Ryanair aircraft incident

Firefighters have been deployed to the runway at Manchester Airport following an incident involving a Ryanair plane – no flights have landed or departed for around 30 minutes

Firefighters have been deployed to the runway at Manchester Airport following an incident involving a Ryanair plane. Images from the scene show several emergency service vehicles at the airport this evening (March 19), the Manchester Evening News reports.

An eyewitness reported that no flights have landed or departed for around 30 minutes, with both fire crews and ambulance services present at the scene.

The M.E.N understands that fire crews were called to the airport to escort the plane as a ‘precaution’ after it experienced a ‘mechanical problem’.

It is believed that smoke was coming from the plane. Reports suggest a hydraulic leak.
