Rogue robotic waiter wrestled to floor after shedding thoughts with slaps and desk dancing
The chaotic scenes begin with a ferocious slap of the table and chopsticks flying, and end with the crazed robot dancing uncontrollably while restaurant staff desperately restrain him

A robot designed to help serve food at fancy restaurant in California had to be wrestled away from diners after it started slapping tables and dancing for no apparent reason.
The humanoid bot, who in a mad video recording the chaos can be seen wearing a Zootopia 2 themed apron, lashes out at a table inside the Chinese hotpot restaurant in San Jose, sending chopsticks and other tableware flying across the room.
As if celebrating its table-slapping outburst, the bot then can be seen bursting into what appears to be a dance, shaking its arms wildly which unsurprisingly causes even more mayhem.
Three restaurant staff (real people this time not robots) can be seen sprinting over to their haywire bot colleague and desperately try to restrain it, and pull it away from customers.
The bot is unperturbed however, and continues to dance on the spot and make what appear to be several more lunges for the table, all while the busy restaurant’s diners look onwards in a mixture of shock and amusement.
Various American media outlets are reporting that the bonkers moment took place at a branch of Haidilao, which is has branches in the UK and Europe as well as the States.
According to Chinese news outlet Jiemian Global, Haidilao is run by a company who have invested in robot chefs and deliveries.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first story this week relating to robots causing chaos.
Earlier this week the Daily Star reported that an old lady had been hospitalised after being frightened by a creepy humanoid robot which snuck up behind her at night.
The robot, which had to be escorted away by several police officers, can be seen in video appearing out of nowhere behind the woman, causing her to jump out her skin.
According to local reports, the lady had been on her phone when she noticed the scary humanoid figure creeping behind her as she took a short walk near her home in Macau, China last Thursday.
The lady shouted “You’re making my heart race! You’ve got plenty to do, so what’s the point of messing around with this? Are you freaking crazy?”, according to local reports.
