GB News halted as Keir Starmer and Donald Trump blasted in ‘develop up’ rant

Donald Trump and Keir Starmer have been slammed by a guest on GB News as a warning was sounded over Britain’s response to the conflict in Iran

GB News viewers were left stunned after a former Tory MP unloaded a double-barrelled verbal assault on both Keir Starmer and Donald Trump. Louise Mensch didn’t hold back during a live broadcast, accusing the Prime Minister and US President of failing to handle the escalating conflict with Iran and the delicate “special relationship” between London and Washington.

Mensch’s fiery intervention came as news tickers flashed updates on the Middle East crisis. She slammed the UK’s current lack of action, warning that Iranian threats are already landing on British soil.

Venting her frustration over the government’s perceived weakness, Mensch argued that Starmer needs to be honest with the public about the cost of inaction.

She told viewers: “We’ve had it reported in the British press just recently that Iran is hiring people to go around and attack British citizens, attack British military bases and attack Jewish people and cause division.

“We’ve seen an Iranian arrest just last week for trying to sneak into one of our nuclear bases, and Iran has launched drones at our base in Cyprus and we have done absolutely nothing about it.”

The former Corby MP added: “Keir Starmer would be better off trying to say to the British public, ‘Unless you want petrol to soar and the price of everything to go up, we should be in this action.'”

The tirade quickly shifted across the Atlantic, where she took aim at Trump’s unpredictable outbursts regarding Britain’s role in global security.

Mensch said: “Britain is not Keir Starmer, and America is not Donald Trump—just as America was not Joe Biden. Donald Trump’s opinion is like the British weather, give it five minutes, and it will change.

“Even his biggest fans would have to admit that is true. Right now, he is angry as the war is not ending as quickly as he would like, so he lashes out at NATO and at Britain.”

Concluding her rant with a plea for maturity, she said: “I do wish that both Keir Starmer and Donald Trump would grow up, but there is no sign of that anytime soon.”

The “grow up” demand sparked a frenzy on X (formerly Twitter), with viewers lining up to either defend the leaders or take swipes at Mensch herself.

One critic dismissed her expertise entirely, writing: “Louise couldn’t handle the mean streets of Corby and ran away. Her advice on wartime matters is worthless.”

Another user jumped to the PM’s defence, saying: “Note Starmer is measured in his responses, not necessarily needing to grow up.”

However, others found the criticism of the US President typical of the UK media landscape. One commenter said: “I find it amusing that so many liberal British commentators talk derisively about Trump… Like they actually believe that they are smarter and more accomplished than him.”
