BREAKING Baby shot lifeless in pram as different youngsters ‘begin ducking’ from gunfire in assault
A baby has been shot dead inside her pram as other children had to “duck” to avoid the gunfire in New York.
A seven-month-old girl, named as Kaori Patterson-Moore, was shot and killed while sitting in her pushchair in “broad daylight” in New York City, police have said. Kaori was the unintended victim of a gang-related shooting.
Footage from the scene shows two men on a motorcycle riding against the flow of traffic through the Williamsburg neighbourhood of Brooklyn. A man on the back of the vehicle takes out a gun and fires “at least two rounds”, New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said.

A manhunt is underway for the driver after the bike crashed and the suspected shooter was apprehended. Other children on the corner of the street where the shooting happened “started ducking” to avoid the gunfire.
The baby’s mother, Lianna Charles-Moore, tearfully told CBS: “She’s gone, and I can’t ever see her again. I can’t smell her, can’t kiss her. I can’t wake up and feed her her bottle. I can’t dress her. Everything I wanted to do with her, I can’t do with her anymore.”
No-one has yet been charged in connection to the shooting.
Multiple adults and children, two in buggies, had been on a street corner when gunfire started on Wednesday. Baby Kaori’s parents ran for cover in a shop, which is where they realised she had been shot.

“All the kids started ducking in the corner. The family went to the store and the mom started screaming when she noticed the baby was bleeding from [her] head,” witness Bernius Maldonado said.
Video footage from inside the shop, published by the New York Post, reveals the horror moment the child’s mum is about to pick up the infant and notices the injuries. She becomes hysterical, and starts jumping up and down with her hands clasped behind her head.
Kaori was taken to nearby Woodhull Hospital where she was pronounced dead. No one else was injured or killed in the horror shooting.
Law enforcement sources have now said the gang who shot the baby girl were actually aiming for her dad.
Kaori’s father, Jamari Patterson, who lives in the nearby Bushwick Houses, was apparently targeted in the brazen Wednesday afternoon hit over a social media beef with a crew from a rival housing project, investigators now believe, the sources said.
