Liverpool set for ‘mass summer time exodus’ with ‘seven stars set to observe Mo Salah’
Liverpool are prepared to sanction a massive summer overhaul with Mohamed Salah’s departure confirmed and seven other stars including Konate, Robertson and Mac Allister facing uncertain futures at Anfield
Liverpool are set to overhaul their underperforming squad, with Anfield chiefs ready to sanction a significant summer revamp.
The Reds kicked off the season as reigning Premier League champions and were heavily tipped to hold onto their title. This followed a summer in which they splashed out over £400million, even breaking their own transfer record twice.
However, the signings of Florian Wirtz for £116m and Alexander Isak for £125m have not had the expected impact, with their defence rapidly falling apart. Liverpool now trail leaders Arsenal by 21 points and face a struggle just to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.

This has sparked rumours about Slot’s future, although indications suggest the Dutchman will stay on to oversee a rebuild. Nonetheless, the squad is poised for a massive shake-up, with The Sun reporting that several of their title-winning players from last year will be up for grabs.
Mohamed Salah is the main name on the list of summer exits. He has seemed increasingly unhappy at Anfield this season, despite only signing a new two-year contract in the summer, reports the Mirror.
His public outburst at Arne Slot in December seemed to mark the point of no return and, although he was reintegrated into the squad, his long-term future was always a big question mark.
That question was answered when he confirmed his nine-year tenure at Anfield will conclude at the end of the season, with a move to Saudi Arabia appearing likely.
Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson are both set to be free agents this summer and despite several proposals to the former, it now seems increasingly probable that both will depart on free transfers.
It’s understood that Liverpool are keen to retain Konate, but have so far been unable to reach an agreement and it now appears he will at least explore his options.
Meanwhile, Robertson was on the brink of a move to Tottenham in January and is expected to leave following this summer’s World Cup. Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez and Federico Chiesa are three more players for whom Liverpool could be open to bids this summer.
Jones, a product of the Liverpool academy, will have just 12 months left on his contract and there could be a push to secure a fee. He has never managed to establish himself as a regular under Slot and may feel a move away from his childhood club would help him elevate his game.
Like Jones, Gomez’s contract also expires in 2027. He has been a dependable squad member, but injuries have prevented him from truly realising his potential.
The summer arrival of young talent Jeremy Jacquet and a potential comeback for Jarell Quansah could render Gomez redundant.
Chiesa is another who appears increasingly set for a departure. He has never managed to establish himself in Slot’s starting lineup and would attract numerous admirers back in Italy, should he choose to bring his English football adventure to a close.
It wouldn’t come as a shock whatsoever if all three of these players are wearing different colours next season. The final two that Liverpool are reportedly willing to entertain bids for are Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo.
Gakpo has been virtually ever-present under Slot, but has endured a dip in form after being instrumental in their triumphs last term.
He has failed to hit those same levels this season, but it seems improbable the Liverpool manager would discard such a crucial component of their attacking setup, given Salah is also heading for the exit.
He also only penned fresh terms in August of last year, meaning Liverpool would presumably demand a substantial sum for his signature. Whether that is achievable remains questionable.
Mac Allister, meanwhile, was outstanding during their title-winning campaign, but like numerous team-mates, has witnessed his displays plummet.
Real Madrid have been strongly connected with the Argentine international, with his father compelled to publicly rubbish the rumours as mere speculation. This summer is already shaping up to be one of significant change, and letting Mac Allister go would only add to that.
This seems like a situation the player himself would have to instigate – could that happen? It’s certainly feasible, but it’s a problem Liverpool would likely prefer to sidestep.
Liverpool owners FSG are eager for a swift reversal of fortunes next season. Behind the scenes, there’s an understanding that off-pitch issues have hindered Slot this season, including a spate of injuries, new signings settling in and, of course, the heartbreaking loss of Diogo Jota.
Nonetheless, just the exits of Salah and Robertson alone would signify a massive shift at Anfield, with the pair playing a crucial role in both of their title victories this decade.
