Armed cops referred to as as gang storms Launceston pub leaving ‘a number of folks injured’
A group tried to break into the White Hart Hotel in Launceston, Cornwall, on Friday night during its weekly DJ evening, with multiple people suffering minor injuries

Punters at a UK pub came under attack from a gang who attempted to force their way in. The group tried to storm the White Hart Hotel in Launceston at approximately 10.30pm on Friday, April 4, during its regular DJ night.
A staff member revealed they attempted to enter through the rear of the building. “At around 10pm we stopped them coming in,” they said. “One took out a belt and tried to hit people with it.”
They mentioned that the back door sustained damage where the group had attempted to barge through, reports Cornwall Live.
A witness reported that several people sustained minor facial wounds. They said the gang of roughly five individuals had visited the pub previously and attacked smokers outside “without known reason or cause”.
They said it has been ongoing “for several weeks,” resulting in multiple injuries.
It reached a climax on Friday, the witness claimed, with armed officers being summoned. Shortly after, regular police arrived to interview potential witnesses.
They added: “Multiple people received minor injuries from the assault.”
The staff member revealed the gang returned on Saturday morning (April 4) and there were concerns they might come back again that evening.
Devon and Cornwall Police stated: “We were called at 10.25pm on Friday, April 3 following a report of a group trying to gain entry to a licenced premises in Broad Street, Launceston, following an earlier altercation.
“It was reported the men had assaulted numerous people in the pub and damaged a door prior in the evening.
“Officers attended but the suspects had left. Enquires are ongoing.”
