Horror as teen boy, 15, discovered ‘lined in blood’ after stabbing at Albert Dock
Emergency services were called to the scene near the Royal Albert Dock and the currently closed Tate museum in Liverpool, where a 15-year-old boy was reportedly assaulted
A teenager has been rushed to hospital following a stabbing near a UK city centre. Emergency services were called to Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock around 7.55pm after reports that a 15-year-old boy had been attacked near the currently shut Tate museum.
Merseyside Police confirmed he sustained a puncture wound to his arm and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Upon the ECHO’s arrival at the scene, a cordon had been established on the Swing Bridge.
Numerous police vehicles and two ambulances were also present. A blood-stained bench was visible near the cordon. An employee at Buco Turkish BARBECUE Street Food indicated that the incident seemed to occur just before 8pm.
He stated: “It happened at about 8pm. I think it was a fight between a group of boys. One of them, aged around 16, came to my truck. His arm was covered in blood. I gave him some water. I don’t know if he was stabbed or if it was just a serious fight.”
An investigation is underway, with officers conducting witness interviews and examining CCTV footage from the area, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Chief Inspector Chris Bland commented: “Enquiries are in the early stages as we seek to establish what has taken place.
“We would ask anyone who was at the Albert Dock this evening who heard or saw anything or has any information to contact us.”
