Amanda Owen has reflected on suffering ‘aches and confusion’ at ‘infuriating’ Ravenseat farm as she paid a tribute to her ‘indomitable’ children in an emotional post.

The shepherdess, 51, took to Instagram to share some touching words about her nine kids that she shares with ex-husband Clive, who split up in June 2022 after 22 years of marriage

The pair are proud parents of Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine, and Nancy – and they regularly help out at the farm, located in Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales.

Amanda shared a sweet video of her children on an easter egg hunt over the weekend.

Alongside the clip, she said: ‘It can be all too easy to forget what makes this life, place and job so worthwhile and rewarding.

‘When the rain is lashing down, the mud cloying and your body aches from the cold and sheer effort.

‘Then, amongst the haste and confusion, for a fleeting moment you look outwards and acknowledge just how blessed you are to be here in this invigorating, inspiring and throughly infuriating place.

‘I reckon that for the children, it’s this place and life that gives them an indomitable spirit and determination that will shape them well for the future, whatever path they choose, they will find their way.

‘As long as they are moving forwards and they don’t fear looking over the next hill and to the horizon then the sky really is the limit.

‘So go, go, go children, today the prize is chocolate eggs but one day…………’

Many fans rushed to the comments section to share the love.

‘Love this Amanda!’

‘Well done Amanda. Fabulous parenting.’

Earlier this year Amanda said goodbye to her beloved pet dog.

Our Farm Next Door viewers were left in tears back in February when the show’s finale saw the Owen family say goodbye to their beloved pet dog, Chalky

In heartbreaking scenes, mum Amanda and her children did their best to give the Jack Russell a comfortable send-off, filling her days with TLC and ‘a lot of cuddles and a lot of hand-feeding.’

Amanda said: ‘She’s pretty much gorged herself on sausages and wafer-thin ham. Hopefully, she’ll fall asleep in her bed and not wake up.’

The mum-of-nine added: ‘These last few weeks have been quite emotional because Chalky is fading away.

‘She’s slowed down hugely. I think, on the quiet, that her time is nigh. She’s nearly at an end.’

‘She’s not in any pain, but she’s soon going to be going to the kennel in the sky.’

The mum-of-nine, who said her dog was a ‘real character’, admitted: ‘To see her going downhill has been quite hard.’

Amanda shot to fame on Our Yorkshire Farm, which aired on Channel 5 between 2018 and 2021.

Then a brand new More4 series, Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids hit our screens in 2024.
