Melania ‘whispered in Donald Trump’s ear’ to again down over horrific Iran battle risk

The President announced a two-week ceasefire just before his chilling deadline for Iran – an expert suggested three reasons that could have led to Trump’s dramatic announcement

Melania Trump could have “whispered something in Donald Trump’s” ears as the US President U-turned on his chilling threat to wipe out Iran’s “whole civilisation”, an expert suggested.

The US, Israel and Iran reached a two-week ceasefire on Wednesday after a public plea from the Pakistani Prime Minister for more time to bring the waring nations together for diplomatic discussions. Before the last-minute ceasefire, Trump had issued a terrifying threat if a deal wasn’t agreed, saying: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.”

An international relations expert suggested several potential reasons behind the US President backing down from his fight.

Leading international relations expert Professor Anthony Glees, from the University of Buckingham, suggested three reasons as to why Trump “blinked first” with Iran.

Speaking to the Mirror, the professor said: “After almost 40 days of war, none of the objectives that Trump and Netanyahu deployed at the start of the war, none of those objectives, have been met.”

Glees dubbed the President “a vindictive, furious, angry old man whose not getting his way” and said “we are in a far worse position today then we were when the war started” and that Trump “hasn’t got what he wanted”.

Melania Trump

The professor suggested perhaps “it was something Melania whispered in his ears” that led to this change. He added: “There is always somebody that the President of the United States will always listen to and for all we know it was Melania.”

On the President use of vile language in the lead up to his deadline, which included “Open the F**kin’ Strait” and “you crazy b**tards”, Glees suggested Melania could have said: “Donald darling, your language revolts me.”

Glees added that the First Lady could also have her husbands legacy on her mind amid his age and erratic behaviour. He said: “Maybe that’s what Melania said too, ‘Donald what you say is disgusting, think of your legacy. You’re an old man, the clock is ticking on you. Do you want to be remembered as the man who caused this havoc?'”

Sir Keir Starmer

The professor also suggested Keir Starmer could have quietly suggested to Trump that his war would destroy the world economy and only benefit Vladimir Putin and China. However, Glees added: “It could be that Keir made this point however the level of insults coming out of the Oval Office against Keir Starmer makes that highly unlikely.”

Trump has thrown out a list of degrading remarks about the Prime Minister since the start of the war with Iran, as they argue over the use of British air bases. The President recently warned the UK had a “long way to go” and said: “We won’t want another Neville Chamberlain, do we agree? We don’t want Neville Chamberlain.”

Price of oil

Glees added that the rising cost of oil and pressure from within the US could have led to his shift. The professor said: “Even though American is in a sense self-sufficient in oil, it is in a global market.” Glees added: “Stock markets being hit, mid-term elections, there could be many reasons.”

The Strait of Hormuz typically sees around a fifth of the world’s oil supply pass through it. When Iran effectively shut the waterway, in retaliation to US and Israeli strikes, the price of a barrel of oil went soaring.

The disruption drove up global oil prices and subsequently led to higher petrol and diesel costs. Global stock markets however recovered this morning following the announcement of the ceasefire.
