Tiger Woods prosecutors demand private information about scandalized star after DUI expenses

Prosecutors in Florida have requested to dive into the medical records of Tiger Woods after he was arrested for DUI in Florida in late March.

Woods, 50, is believed to be in Switzerland seeking professional help following his arrest in late March for driving under influence after rolling his car near his home in Jupiter Island, Florida.

Now, according to the New York Post, it has also emerged that Woods’s pharmacy is being asked by prosecutors to provide detail about every prescription drug he was given.

The Post says prosecutors want to find out if Woods had any warnings not to drive when he was taking the medication.

They quoted a subpoena from Martin County in Florida requesting the ‘date and time prescription was filled, type of prescription, number of pills in each prescription, the dosage amount, and all special instructions.’

Woods blew a clear breathalyzer test on the roadside after the incident but refused to give a urine sample.

He admitted taking ‘a few pills’ and was found with two white tablets, which were later identified as the opioid hydrocodone.

Woods has since stepped away from golf to focus on improving his wellbeing. Before the crash, many were hoping the 15-time Major winner would compete in his first tournament since the 2024 Open Championship.

In a brief statement on the issue released last week, Woods said: ‘I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today.

‘I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.

‘I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.’

Five of the 15 Major titles to Woods’s name came at Augusta and his presence is still felt around the fabled course this week, even in his absence. His last Major triumph was there, in 2019.

But since then, his personal issues away from the sport have been a major part of the Woods story.

He rolled his SUV in Los Angeles in 2021, crushing his right leg. Last year, he tore his Achilles and had a seventh back surgery before his 50th birthday.

The recent incident in Florida is the fourth involving Woods and his car.

The first was when he crashed into a fire hydrant outside his home after wife Elin Nordegren discovered he had been cheating.

In 2017, police found him asleep at the wheel on the side of the road with his engine still running.

Woods was arrested for that and said it was an ‘unexpected reaction’ to prescription medication that had left him in the condition he was in.

‘I will do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again,’ he said at the time.
