Trump’s lunacy is a hazard to the world – he would not get to behave like a hero

Donald Trump does not get to play the hero over this Iran ceasefire. The US President’s absurd brinksmanship and tantrums over the Strait of Hormuz terrified the whole world.
It has endangered millions of lives and sent the global economy into turmoil. Yet the Orange Manbaby is acting like he’s Cock of the Walk once again.
You even get the impression he might be asking for another peace prize before long.
But the fact is Trump is walking a very fine line with his ongoing lunacy. Acting like he is right now, the billionaire is a serious danger to the world.
Donny seems to be repeatedly putting the future of the entire planet at stake whenever he’s in a bad mood.
On a domestic level, you just have to look at the continued shocks to our markets and key markers like mortgage rates.
Keir Starmer, like the rest of the duller but more sane world leaders, still hasn’t got a clue how to deal with this ticking human time bomb.
There is of course the chance that these bullyboy tactics somehow work and Iran is brought to heel permanently. But the ceasefire already appears to be on very shaky ground.
We hope for everyone’s sake that a modicum of sense prevails over the coming weeks. There have been enough close calls with Armageddon already for one year.
