Andy Robertson’s subsequent membership after Liverpool exit confirmed and switch talks held
Andy Robertson will leave Liverpool at the end of the season after nine years at Anfield and the left-back is now on the search for his next club
Liverpool defender Andy Robertson announced that his nine-year Liverpool career will be over at the end of the season after confirming he will leave Anfield as a free agent.
The 32-year-old left-back reportedly has four clubs vying for his signature after his Anfield exit at the end of the campaign was confirmed. Robertson has spent the past nine years at Anfield, helping the club secure two Premier League crowns, a Champions League, two League Cups and an FA Cup alongside the FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Community Shield.
However, he’s battled for consistent playing time following the arrival of Milos Kerkez and was linked with an exit during the recent January transfer window. Having managed just 15 starts this campaign, Robertson craves regular football and according to The Times, there are four main contenders for his signature. Here, the Daily Star Sport delves into each possible destination.

Tottenham Hotspur
Robertson was heavily linked with a move to north London in January after reportedly agreeing personal terms before Liverpool pulled the plug on the move after failing to sign a replacement.
Tottenham will be hoping to be back at the front of the queue to sign the experienced left-back but their chances of securing the Scot will depend on their hopes of Premier League survival.
Spurs’ season has been a disaster and it could end in humiliation if they are relegated to the Championship. It would be a huge shock if Robertson was open to a move to the second-tier of English football.
Atletico Madrid
Atletico Madrid previously attempted to sign Robertson last summer as the Reds signed Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth in a £40million deal to take the starting spot off the Scot. The thought of Robertson and his dark arts under Simeone seems a perfect fit.
The La Liga giants will likely return to try and convince Robertson to make the switch this summer and Simeone’s side are nailed on for another Champions League run next season. The Rojiblancos showed their formidable credentials in Europe by beating Barcelona 2-0 at Camp Nou in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
Juventus
Juventus has been linked with Robertson and have secured plenty of shrewd free transfer deals for ageing players throughout the years.
The Turin giants have lost their dominance in Serie A and have been fighting to secure Champions League football in recent season rather than challenging for the Scudetto.
Andrea Cambiaso, 26, has been Juventus’ starting left-back but the experience of Robertson on the pitch and in the dressing room could turn the club’s fortunes around.
Napoli
Unlike Juventus, Napoli are in the mix for the Serie A title having reeled Inter Milan back into just seven points off the back of five straight wins. Antonio Conte won the title last year and will be hoping to be in the mix again next season.
Conte’s back-five system would present Robertson with a new challenge after the Scot previously filled in at wing-back and left side of the back three during his time at Liverpool and for the national team. Napoli would also give him the chance to bolster his trophy cabinet in a city in love with their team.
