Kai Trump Masters selfie fact after Donald Trump’s granddaughter instructed she broke Augusta rule
Augusta is known for it’s immense focus on traditionalism, decorum and strict rules, but it appears the granddaughter of Donald Trump has broken a key one
Golf fans believed President Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai Trump put herself at risk of being barred from Augusta – but there is a nuance they missed. Kai, who is the daughter of President Trump’s eldest son Donald Jr, managed to soak up the ambience at the Masters this week.
The teenager, 18, was permitted to stroll the course, observe the play and even snap a photo with Bryson DeChambeau, who famously maintains a close friendship with the White House Chief. She commemorated the occasion by posting multiple images of herself experiencing the splendour of one of the globe’s most exclusive golf establishments.
However, in doing so, the social media world believed she exposed herself violating one of Augusta’s cardinal regulations – absolutely no mobile phones within the club premises.
Given that 1989 Open champion Mark Calcavecchia was recently instructed to depart Augusta after being discovered using his phone, club officials might not view Kai’s apparent rule infringement favourably. One of her photographs was a selfie positioned before the legendary signage directing visitors towards Amen corner.
Regarding mobile devices, there exists virtually no ambiguity. Their regulations explicitly declare: “Anyone found to be carrying a phone will be removed from the grounds and will be permanently banned from buying tickets”
Media representatives are permitted to bring their devices inside, though they’re required to deposit them at their workstations in the press section. As a consequence of this, Kai risks being barred from entering Augusta and would certainly eliminate any possibility of her becoming a member at the club. Notably, she would not be the only individual in the Trump family who is prohibited from membership.
Despite serving as president of the United States, Trump himself is not permitted to be a member at the legendary Georgia course. The traditionalist board members at the club are exceptionally stringent regarding who they permit as members, even if the prospective candidate leads the most powerful nation on earth.
Legendary golf instructor Butch Harmon seemed to imply Trump is far too loud, boisterous and discourteous to ever be contemplated for membership at Augusta. The 82-year-old recently stated: “I think he is who he is.
“He’s full of himself. He’s the type of person that I don’t think fits the profile of an Augusta member.
“I’ve known him most of my whole life, because his father was a member of Winged Foot (where Harmon’s father Claude was head professional), so I’ve known Donald pretty much my whole life.
“What you see is what you get with him. And I don’t think his personality fits the membership at Augusta. I don’t think that (being president) has anything to do with it, because there’s been a lot of other presidents who played golf, and they’re not members.
“Clinton, Obama, they played golf. I think it’s just his personality doesn’t mix with that particular club. That’s as politically correct as I can be.”
