A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured after being attacked by two dogs that escaped from a property in Potterne, Wiltshire, with armed police battling to control the animals
A teenager has been gravely wounded after two dogs broke loose from a property in a Wiltshire village.
The 14-year-old was brutally attacked in Potterne, Wiltshire last night (April 9), prompting emergency services to rush to the scene.
The dogs reportedly escaped from a nearby house and mauled the teen at around 9.30pm on Thursday, according to wiltshire999s.
Paramedics rushed the boy to hospital while armed police struggled to subdue the animals in the usually peaceful village located two miles south of Devizes.
Officers succeeded in gaining control of the two dogs into the back of a van, which transported them to secure kennels, reports the Mirror.
The owner of the dogs is reportedly set to be questioned under caution, with the breed of the dogs yet to be determined.
Devizes Neighbourhood Inspector Simon Garrett stated: “We appreciate how horrendous and distressing this incident must have been for the victim, his family and those who witnessed it and we are taking it very seriously.
“The two dogs involved have been seized and taken to secure kennels and their owner has been identified.
“Enquiries are ongoing to understand the full circumstances of the incident.”
