Man, in his 20s, is arrested on suspicion of homicide after physique present in backyard
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder, after a body was found at the bottom of a garden in Bristol.
Emergency services were called to a property in Cleve Road, Filton, near Bristol, in the early hours of Thursday morning after a man in his 20s was found with significant injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man, also in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday morning.
Detective Chief Inspector Lucy Edgeworth, of Avon and Somerset Police, said: ‘The victim’s family are aware of the arrest and our thoughts are with them following their devastating loss.
‘Out of respect to his family, we would ask people not to speculate on the man’s identity, or the wider circumstances around his death.
‘They are continuing to privately grieve at this time, and we would ask that their privacy is respected.’
Detective Edgeworth added that the formal identification process has not yet been completed.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said a forensic post-mortem examination indicated the man died after sustaining a ‘number of stab wounds’.

Police are now appealing for any potential witnesses or people with CCTV or dashcam footage covering Cleve Road or neighbouring streets to come forward
He was found at the rear of a garden in Cleve Road, Filton, on Thursday, near a pathway running behind the houses.
It is believed he had died several hours earlier on Wednesday.
Ms Edgeworth added: ‘A huge amount of work has been carried out by the investigation team and specialist officers in recent days.
‘This includes reviewing many hours of CCTV footage, carrying out forensic enquiries at the scene, conducting detailed searches of the local area and speaking to potential witnesses.
‘This has led to an arrest being made and the man remains in custody where he will be questioned under caution.’
The force is appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened or has CCTV or dashcam footage covering Cleve Road, or any other streets nearby, from 3pm on Wednesday, April 8 to 3am on Thursday, April 9 to call 101 quoting reference number 5226096397.
