It’s very much the season for spring cleaning – and shoppers are snapping up a ‘fantastic’ vacuum to help them do the job. Now, the Shark Corded Upright Vacuum Cleaner is available from Amazon for 40% off in a limited deal.
Originally retailing for £229.99, the vacuum cleaner has been slashed in price to £139 – and over 4,000 have been bought in the last month alone. This model is an ‘Amazon’s Choice’ product, and this price is for the version that comes with the extra pet tool. The vacuum cleaner without the pet tool isn’t currently discounted, and costs £199.
This corded vacuum is remarkably multi-functional – buyers can use the ‘Lift-Away’ mode to transform it into a portable cleaner, which is much easier to use on stairs and high-up places. It has two modes, and switches between carpet and hard floor modes with controls on the handle.

According to Amazon, the vacuum cleaner as an ‘anti-allergen complete seal’, which ‘captures 99.9%* of dust and allergens inside the vacuum, not releasing them back into the air you breathe’. Plus, the added pet tool make cleaning up after any four-legged friends a lot easier.
This isn’t the only tool it comes with – there are also attachments for crevices and upholstery. It weighs 5.1kg, and has a five-year guarantee when registered with Shark.
For a cheaper option, shoppers could look to the Bush Bagless Cylinder Corded Vacuum Cleaner, which costs £55 from Argos. The listing describes it as ‘thoughtfully designed with big easy to move wheels, and a comfortable to hold, rear handle’.

On the more expensive end of the spectrum – or if shoppers wanted a cordless option – there’s the Dyson V8 Advanced Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, which currently costs £229, down from £329, at Currys. This cable-free model says it has 40 minutes of suction, and is nice and powerful thanks to its Cyclonic Technology.
The Shark Corded Upright Vacuum Cleaner has proven a hit on Amazon, clocking up a 4.6 star rating from over 13,600 reviews. One shopper said: “Good price for this vacuum cleaner. Packed well. Easy to put together. Lightweight to use. Very good suction on min and max for carpets and hard floors. Very easy to empty. Would recommend.”
Another said as part of a longer review: “This is a fantastic vacuum cleaner. Apparently this is Shark’s lightest corded vacuum and I think it is heavy in a good way. It is very substantial and feels excellent quality. It has lots of power. I have mine set on the lowest suction and it still has incredible suction. I don’t know where it finds the dirt. It isn’t too noisy either.”
A third said as part of their review: “Easy to put together. Fairly lightweight, and you can detach the motor and carry around one handed to get to those awkward places, like curtains and underneath grandma.
“Suction power is great, with two settings for hard floors and carpets. First use made the carpet in the living room look like new – and yes, I should vacuum more often. The pet cleaning tool isn’t just a gimmick either. Tried it out on some cushions etc, removed all cat hairs etc very efficiently.”
Some shoppers shared some slight critiques, like one who said in their review: “Love this vac. Lightweight but strong in suction. Upgraded from an old cordless. Only reason for not giving 5* is that the attachments are flimsy.”
Another added: “Good vacuum, wanted something upright but is very hard to push over carpets.”
