Fox News halted for Donald Trump replace as viewers declare President is ‘not effectively’
Donald Trump was interviewed on Fox News about oil tankers, but went on a rambling tangent about renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America which sparked viewers’ concerns
Fox News was brought to an abrupt halt during a live interview with Donald Trump which left viewers suggesting that he is “not well.”
During the conversation, presenter Maria Bartiromo asked the US President about reports that “supertankers” would head to the Gulf of Mexico to purchase oil and gas from the US following the Iran conflict.
She started by asking: “Mr President, you referred to a post that hundreds of supertankers are headed to the Gulf of America to buy oil and gas from the US. What can you tell us about that, sir?” Trump was more than willing to launch into a tirade about renaming the Gulf.
He said: “Well, I can tell you that it used to be called the Gulf of Mexico, that’s what I can tell you. Now it’s called the Gulf of America because of me.
“One of my little things that I did, you know? One of my little sidelines.
“And it’s a great honour. People are so happy. You go to Louisiana, you go to Florida, you go to these states – Texas – they’re so honoured by it. I used to say, ‘Why is it the Gulf of Mexico when we have 93% of the frontage?’ It fronts 93% of the United States.”
During the live phone chat, he added: “I said, ‘I think I’m gonna change it to the Gulf of America, what a beautiful name’. And I did.
“And I give a lot of credit to Google, because once I’d filed the papers, they did it, and Google Maps… once Google Maps changed, it was a done deal. But we had lawsuits, we won everything. It’s now the Gulf of America, which I’m very honoured by.”
Bartiromo attempted to interrupt Trump by saying, “but do you expect”. But Trump immediately cut her off, reports the Express.
He added: “I must tell you, I was thinking about calling it the Gulf of Trump, and I decided not to do it. I think it was wise. I think that one maybe wouldn’t have worked out, I’m not so sure, you’ll have to tell me.
“But I was thinking about… it was gonna be called the Gulf of Trump, and then I said, ‘You know, that’s not gonna play too well’.”
Viewers quickly took to social media to voice their opinions and concerns about the president’s health. One commenter said: “He’s not well. All of this points to a real psychopath being in charge of the US. How are you letting him get away with it?”
Another commenter agreed and said: “Him evading the question is all you need to know about any ships heading our way to buy our oil. There aren’t any.”
A third wrote: “He can’t even answer a simple question about oil tankers without turning it into another ego trip. Instead of talking policy he just brags about his little sidelines like a kid.”
