Rovers return! Dogs take to Coronation Street’s well-known cobbles
Hundreds of dogs walked along the famous cobbles at the Coronation Street Experience in Manchester for the first time on Sunday.
The TV set received a flurry of new and excited visitors, with many dogs dressing up for the occasion.
More than 200 beloved pets were welcomed at the one-day only event as the Coronation Street Experience helped raise money for Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, to celebrate National Pet Day.
Weatherfield’s police station saw pugs Lilly and Lulu dressed as police officers and further down the street, owner Brad Wood posed with his dog Bobby, a French bulldog, outside The Kabin newsagent.
The soap street is currently home to the Platt family dog, which is named David after its owner – and other canine characters have included Evelyn Plummer’s greyhound Cerberus, Chesney Brown’s great dane Schmeichel and Maria Connor’s labrador Ozzy.
Fans enjoyed walking their dogs on the cobbles throughout the day, and owner Annie Palmas dressed her dogs – Joey and Jessie – in matching blue collars to commemorate the occasion.
Tillie, a spaniel, and Dollie, a chihuahua, could be seen posing for pictures outside the street’s famous pub The Rovers Return Inn.
While owners paid £40 per person, the £10 entry fee for their pets raised money for Dogs Trust.

The Coronation Street Experience went ‘dog-friendly’ for its one-day only Walkies in Weatherfield event on Sunday.
The organisers said in a post on the experience’s website: ‘Bring your dog on a tour of Coronation Street. To celebrate National Pet Day, The Coronation Street Experience is going dog-friendly for one day only…
‘It’s a chance fans have been asking for for years. One Sunday where you can explore Weatherfield with your dog by your side and see the Street in a whole new way.
‘On Sunday 12 April 2026, you’ll enjoy a 90-minute visit to Britain’s most famous street.
‘Walk the iconic cobbles, stop for photos outside the Rovers, wander past Roy’s Rolls and the Bistro, and soak up the atmosphere at a relaxed pace, with your dog on a lead.
‘As you explore, tour guides will be around the Street sharing fun facts, behind-the-scenes stories and Corrie knowledge you might not know, bringing the Street to life as you go.’
Human visitors were able to grab a coffee while their furry friends were offered ‘puppucinos’.
