RFK Jr reduce off useless raccoon’s penis on household journey as he ‘wished to have a look at it’
A new biography on Robert F. Kennedy Jr has shed light on a series of strange moments from his past, including an incident where he cut off a dead raccoon’s penis during a family outing ‘to study later’
A new biography of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is revealing a string of personal and bizarre episodes from his past, including an incident where he recorded severing a deceased raccoon’s penis during a family trip.
The book, RFK Jr.: The Fall and Rise, penned by investigative journalist Isabel Vincent, draws upon dozens of sources, including private diaries Kennedy maintained in New York City between 1999 and 2001. These diaries, which were updated daily, were subsequently shared with Vincent following the 2012 death of his second wife, Mary Richardson Kennedy.
According to the book, the diaries were retained by Mary as “leverage” during their divorce proceedings, which had not been completed at the time of her death at age 52. She ended her life on May 16, 2012, at her residence in Westchester County, New York. The fresh biography emerges as RFK Jr.’s podcast launch was mocked by critics who claimed their ‘ears will bleed’.
Vincent’s reporting utilises the diaries to create a comprehensive portrait of Kennedy’s personal battles, family conflicts, and enduring fascination with wildlife. One entry, dated November 11, 2001, describes Kennedy stopping on a motorway while travelling with his family after noticing a dead raccoon, reports the Irish Star.
“I was standing in front of my parked car on I-684 cutting the penis out of a road killed raccoon, thinking about how weird some of my family members have turned out to be,” he wrote, reportedly reflecting on strained relationships with his brother Douglas Kennedy and cousin Bobby Shriver. “My kids waited patiently in the car.”
Vincent revealed to People that Kennedy removed the animal’s genitals so he could “study them later.”
The revelation contributes to a collection of tales concerning Kennedy’s treatment of animals and roadkill. His fascination with wildlife stems from his youth, including an occasion when he presented a salamander to his uncle, John F. Kennedy, in the Oval Office. He also cultivated an early passion for falconry and was employed at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C.
“You have to understand, Bobby wanted to be a veterinarian as a kid. His after-school job was at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C.,” Vincent explained. “So he’s got a great love and interest in animals and a freezer full of roadkill, I’m sure, where he studies it.” In recent years, further allegations about Kennedy’s conduct with animals have emerged.
“Throughout the 2024 presidential campaign and following his appointment to Donald Trump’s administration as Secretary of Health and Human Services, stories emerged claiming that he disposed of a dead bear in Central Park, decapitated a whale, and pulverised “baby chickens and mice in a blender” to feed hawks. That final allegation was put forward by his cousin, Caroline Kennedy, prior to his Senate confirmation hearings.
Kennedy has also spoken openly about his fascination with roadkill. “I’ve been picking up roadkill my whole life. I have a freezer full of it,” he told journalists in August 2024.
Beyond the raccoon episode, the book reveals other elements of Kennedy’s private life, including supposed affairs. According to Vincent, his diaries describe a method in which he monitored and scored women he had relations with on a scale of 1 to 10.
The biography also highlights Kennedy’s previous connections with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell was reportedly acquainted with Mary, and Kennedy travelled twice aboard Epstein’s private aircraft.
One journey involved a visit to Palm Beach with Mary, whom he described as his “wife” while still wed to his first wife, Emily Black. Another flight transported him and his family to South Dakota for a fossil-hunting expedition.
