You can see disgraced ex-Prince Andrew’s new residence on Sandringham royal ‘safari’ tour

Royal fans will be able to see Prince Andrew’s new home at Marsh Farm after King Charles’ staff changed the route of summer safari tours at the Sandringham estate

Royal enthusiasts will be able to glimpse the disgraced Prince Andrew’s new residence – after the King’s team altered the route of the summer “safari” tours of his Norfolk estate.

The well-liked tours, which transport visitors around the King’s Sandringham residence in a Land Rover Defender, provide the opportunity to witness the countryside estate in all its splendour.

The two-hour ‘Safari and Afternoon Tea Tour’ starts in the formal sections taking in the gardens and exterior of Sandringham House, which was reconstructed in 1870 for Edward VII’s expanding family. Visitors are then able to discover the breathtaking landscape of the broader estate, before they are driven to the back of disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s new residence, Marsh Farm.

The tours now venture off-road across the fields behind Andrew’s new dwelling, then utilise his shared driveway to access the road in the village of Wolferton.

The King’s shamed brother was ousted from his 30-room Royal Lodge residence in Windsor earlier this year, due to his connection with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, reports the Mirror.

Andrew, 66, was mentioned repeatedly in millions of documents released by the US State Department investigating Epstein’s catalogue of crimes. The monarch last October also removed all his brother’s titles and honours, expressing his “profound concern” at the allegations.

Andrew was detained by Thames Valley police officers on his birthday, 19 February, over allegations of misconduct in a public office. He continues to be investigated by the force examining claims he shared confidential information with Epstein while serving as a trade envoy for the British government.

Nine additional UK forces are also reviewing various allegations concerning his connection with the late billionaire financier, while US investigations also seek Andrew to give evidence about his relationship with the sex offender.

Thus far he has largely remained out of sight since being banished from the royal family, only emerging in recent weeks strolling with a bodyguard on the Sandringham estate and to view horses near his new five-bedroom residence.

The tours guide visitors through the formal gardens, then across the broader estate to showcase the King’s organic farmland and woodlands, which are home to deer, hares and birds of prey.

Visitors are also given the chance to discover more about areas such as the Wash, a stunning shallow bay bustling with wintering birds.

Tickets are obtainable on the Sandringham estate website, which promotes: “Discover what enchanted generations of monarchs aboard a Land Rover Defender for a spectacular tour of the Royal Sandringham Estate, including the Royal Station platform in the village of Wolferton.”

The tour concludes with a delightful Afternoon Tea featuring local produce. Each safari offers an intimate, personal experience, limited to a maximum of six people.

Another tour operator suggests that royal enthusiasts can “travel through spectacular landscapes, rolling meadows, tranquil organic farmland and magical forests being driven by an expert guide who lives and works on the estate, happy to answer questions about how it’s managed.”

Queen Elizabeth II has cherished hosting her family at Christmas there every year since 1988, except during covid restrictions.

She has previously expressed how she “treasured the memories” created there during the festive season, where she typically stayed through the new year until marking the anniversary of her father, King George VI’s death, on February 6.

George V, the great-grandfather of King Charles III, described his family’s Norfolk retreat as “Dear old Sandringham, the place I love better than anywhere else in the world “. George VI penned to his mother “I have always been so happy here and I love the place”.
