The 88-year-old, who played Lt Hikaru Sulu in the hit sci-fi show, said Trump’s Presidency it was an ‘absolutely insane’ moment in history
Star Trek legend George Takei – who played Lt Hikaru Sulu in the hit sci-fi show – says Donald Trump is a ‘LUNATIC’.
The 88-year-old, who played the senior helmsman of the starship in the TV show, also called the US President a ‘madman’ and said it was an ‘absolutely insane’ moment in history
Speaking this week, the actor said he was optimistic that ‘Trumpism’ wouldn’t survive when the property mogul leaves the White House.
He said: “We have a lunatic in the White House – we have a madman. We are Americans – and that needs to stand for something, but we keep repeating our failures.
“Trump is a disaster, he’s the enemy of the ideals of democracy, and we don’t have people with the knowledge or the guts to know how to deal with these situations.”
He added: “We’re living in an exciting transitional time. I think it’s healthy turmoil, and out of the fire, well you know where the phoenix came from.
“I don’t think Trumpism is going to survive – I’m optimistic.”
Comedian Ruby Wax recently said that Trump was the ‘most evil man’ she had ever met – and compared him to the Devil.
The 72-year-old said she first met Trump in 2000 when she interviewed him on board his private jet.
Ruby, famed for shows like The Full Wax and Ruby Wax Meets, said Trump was just a property mogul at the time, before he stood for President.
She said she met him during filming for her BBC show Ruby’s American Pie, and that Trump told her he was aiming to stand for election – causing her to burst out laughing.
Ruby said that Trump ended up kicking her off his private jet after just five minutes – later calling her ‘the most obnoxious person I have ever met’.
Speaking last month, Ruby said Trump looked at her with ‘hatred’ after she laughed when he told her of his political ambitions, adding: “I really saw into the eye of the beast.
“I saw evil. I’ve never said that about anybody else and it was terrifying.”
In the Bible, the ‘beast’ is the Antichrist – a ‘being’ with horns, but with ‘the eyes of a man’ who seeks to control the world – which is in ‘direct opposition to God.
