Sky Sports pressured to apologise as Erling Haaland has X-rated evaluation of team-mate
Erling Haaland had an X-rated reply to a question posed to him after Manchester City beat Arsenal to move within touching distance of the Premier League summit
Erling Haaland had to be reminded of his language after swearing on Sky Sports during an interview after Manchester City beat Arsenal to move within striking distance of the Premier League summit.
The City marksman scored the winning goal in the 65th minute as Pep Guardiola’s side moved three points behind Arsenal with a game in hand after winning the title showdown 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Haaland was overjoyed by the win as he lapped up the full-time scenes with the City fans and singing down the camera. The big Norwegian kept that mood in his interview with Sky Sports after the game alongside Player of the Match Bernardo Silva.

In one of his final matches at the Etihad before he leaves City as a free agent in the summer, Silva did an incredible job operating in a more defensive role that he is usually seen playing, with one instance of the little Portuguese beating Viktor Gyokeres to a header staying in Haaland’s mind.
When asked about his team-mate’s defending, Haaland replied: “I remember that cross, I told him after when he headed it out, I just told him you were like f****** Cannavaro.”
Haaland was then reminded not to swear, but he was far from apologetic as he said: “It’s alright we all have swearing in our lives.
“I just told him he was like Cannavaro and yeah today, Burnley, I’m not going to make it emotional but you were really good!”
As the broadcast returned to the studio of Roy Keane, Patrick Vieira and Micah Richards, presenter David Jones also apologised for Haaland’s language.
Haaland was in brilliant form, not just in front of goal, as he won his fierce battle with Gabriel. The Arsenal centre-back was no match for Haaland for City’s second goal as he was brushed off by the big striker.
Gabriel was also lucky not to be sent off as he aimed a headbutt at Haaland. Fortunately for the Brazilian, he failed to make a clean contact on Haaland who didn’t roll around holding his face that would have almost certainly seen Gabriel sent off.
Instead, a yellow card each was shown and VAR deemed Gabriel’s motion “not to be excessively aggressive or violent.”
City travel to Burnley on Wednesday to play their game in hand, a win will be enough to take them to the top of the table on goal difference or goals scored with 15 points left to play for.
