Woman raises three children on her personal and cooks meal with no arms or legs

An inspiring 81-year-old woman born without arms or legs has become something of an internet celebrity in China after her remarkable story gained attention online.

Wang Yushi not only manages day-to-day tasks but even managed to raise three children on her own, refusing to be held back by her disability. Social media users expressed their amazement at Wang’s ability to sew clothes, cook food and even chop vegetables without the help of limbs.

According to her son Zhang Lihu, the inspiring Wang did not even receive a name until she was in her late 20s, when she married his father.

He explained: “My mother was born without hands or legs, and for more than 20 years she did not even have a name. It was not until she married my father at 27 that a registration officer gave her the name Wang Yushi, and that is what everyone has called her since”.

He went on to explain that after marrying, Wang went on to have two sons and one daughter, essentially raising all three on her own while her husband worked elsewhere, according to the South China Morning Post.

Zhang explained the way his mother is able to prepare food, saying that she uses a stool to support her body while utilising her shoulders to knead dough and even hold a knife for chopping.

Speaking about caring for her three children, Wang said: “At that time, I was the only one taking care of the children. Life was really hard, but I was still content. At least we never went hungry.”

All three of Wang’s children have now grown up to have families of their own, and her husband tragically passed away over a decade ago.

She now lives with her son Zhang, who posts about her life on Chinese social media sites under the name “A Great Mother”, which boasts hundreds of thousands of adoring followers.

Speaking to his followers, Zhang expressed gratitude and adoration for his mother, saying: “Being able to stay by my mother’s side is the greatest happiness. As long as my mother is here, home is here.”
