Liverpool information: Jurgen Klopp’s managerial return stance as two stars set to depart
Liverpool face a summer of change with Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson departures confirmed, while Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones are also tipped to leave Anfield amid squad overhaul plans.
The season’s conclusion cannot arrive quickly enough for Liverpool following a thoroughly disappointing title defence. Despite splashing out £450million last summer, the Reds have regressed, sparking doubts about Arne Slot’s future.
Liverpool may need to depend on the Premier League’s additional spot, fifth place, to guarantee Champions League qualification next season. Partly thanks to Chelsea’s poor run of results, that appears likely to be secured, but it will provide scant comfort.
It’s evident the squad requires an overhaul before next season, with at least two exits, Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, already confirmed. Daily Star Sport brings you a round-up of the latest news from Anfield.

Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones could also be departing Anfield this summer. According to football journalist Alan Nixon’s Patreon page, the duo are at the top of the list of players who could be potentially sold, which would free up funds for signings, reports the Mirror.
In line with the squad overall, Mac Allister has been a pale imitation of his previous form this season. And with the Reds reportedly pursuing Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, the Argentine could be moved on. A strong showing at the World Cup would boost his value.
Jones, who unexpectedly got the nod at right-back against Everton with Jeremie Frimpong amongst the substitutes, might be seeking a new challenge, with Aston Villa amongst the sides reportedly monitoring him.
Jurgen Klopp’s intentions evident
Should Slot leave, numerous Reds supporters will be hoping for a sentimental comeback for Jurgen Klopp. Since departing Anfield, the German has assumed positions as head of global football with the Red Bull Group and as an advisor to the German Football League.
Nevertheless, he has played down suggestions of a return to club management, recently dismissing speculation connecting him with Real Madrid. According to AS, the sole position that would lure him back to the touchline is with Germany.
The Spanish publication claims that taking charge of his homeland represents his long-term goal.
Whether he achieves that dream in the immediate future might depend on how Germany perform at the World Cup under Julian Nagelsmann, who is contracted until after Euro 2028 in the UK and Ireland.
