“I can’t lie if I was Luke Littler I would be loving every second of that,” one fan joked on social media. While a second said: “Liverpool crowd letting Littler know what they think of him…”
“Littler seems to be getting even more ridiculed than in the Netherlands,” a third admitted. As a fourth shared: “The Scousers aren’t being kind to Luke Littler…”
And another added: “So pathetic @SkySportsDarts complaining about the reception Littler is getting. His attitude has deserved this…”
Littler has been loudly booed in the Premier League this year – with the boos intensifying after a clash with Gian van Veen. However, he has still been playing some good darts.
And ahead of his quarter-final with Luke Humphries, the Nuke said: “I’ve been challenging every week to obviously get that top spot. Jonny is not going to back away. He wants to keep that spot. And with the form he’s in, it’s going to be tough.
“But as long as I play my darts, hopefully I can get a few more nightly wins and I’m sure I can challenge for top spot again. Luke is not in a good position. The way he’s performed, he won’t be happy with himself; he’s got to dig himself out of that hole.
“I definitely won’t be giving him the win because he needs it.”
