Small boat gang rapist is a assassin who fled Egypt to get handouts in UK earlier than committing horrific intercourse assault on unconscious girl on Brighton seashore

A small boat migrant today found guilty of gang raping a vulnerable woman on a beach was already on the run for murder, it can now be reported.

Violent thug Karin Al-Danasurt should never have been allowed into the UK to lodge an asylum claim after crossing the Channel in 2024.

It is believed the Egyptian national duped immigration officials by giving a false name.

A year later, Al-Danasurt and fellow asylum seekers Ibrahim Alshafe, 25, also from Egypt, and Abdulla Ahmadi, 26, from Iran, lured a heavily intoxicated young woman to a secluded part of Brighton beach and subjected her to a brutal ordeal.

But it can now be revealed he fled Egypt in 2022, having been convicted of murder and facing a ‘lengthy sentence’, and spent two years living as a fugitive in Europe before making his way to the UK.

Prosecutors told magistrates at a previous hearing that an intelligence report based on documents found in Al-Danasurt’s room suggested the 20-year-old was sentenced in his absence after he failed to surrender to Egyptian police.

Foreign criminals are routinely refused entry to the UK, meaning Al-Danasurt should never have been in the UK to rape his victim, who cannot be identified.

The Government has now vowed to deport Al-Danasurt and his two accomplices, also small boat migrants.

But the case yet again exposes the fragility of the UK’s borders, with Al-Danasurt among the plethora of small boat migrants thought to have slipped into the country under an alias.

Robert Jenrick, the former Tory immigration minister until 2023, who now represents Reform, said: ‘These evil men should never have been in our country.

‘I couldn’t care less if they have a hard time back in Egypt, they should be deported so they never step foot in this country again.

‘The small boat crisis is a national security emergency. Murderers, spies and gangsters are crossing with impunity and it’s destroying lives.

‘Only a Reform UK Government led by Nigel Farage has the backbone to leave the ECHR (European Convention on Human Rights) and fix this daily disaster.’

Chris Philp, the Shadow Home Secretary, said: ‘Tens of thousands of illegal immigrants are flooding into the UK each year by small boat and we have no idea who they are or what their history is.

‘The majority are young men and many have committed rape, sexual assault and even murder – with some sexual assault victims girls as young as just 12 years old.

‘We must completely stop illegal immigrants from entering the UK.

‘The only way to do this is the Conservative plan to leave the ECHR and deport all illegal immigrants within a week of arrival. But Labour is too weak to do that.’

A five-week trial heard Al-Danasurt even filmed the rapes on his mobile phone, with the victim, in her 30s, virtually unconscious throughout.

He then shamelessly told jurors at Hove Crown Court he was trying to ‘help’ the woman by building up evidence of the attack.

But he did nothing to stop the violent assaults on October 4 last year, carried out by his friends, who slapped and spat at the woman and made crude gestures while treating her like ‘meat’.

Al-Danasurt, who told jurors ‘rape is sex’, kicked the defenceless victim as he gleefully filmed the sickening assault.

All three were failed asylum seekers, with Al-Danasurt and Ahmadi having their applications rejected before the attack, and Alshafe’s application being turned down the weekend of the rape. It is understood they have each lodged an appeal against the decision.

Al-Danasurt arrived in the UK by small boat on October 11, 2024. He gave his name as Karin Abdulaziz Al-Danasurt, and said he was born on June 22, 2005.

This would have made him 19 when he arrived in the UK, and no older than 17 when he allegedly murdered someone back in Egypt.

He was later granted a room at Cisswood House Hotel in Horsham, Home Office-approved accommodation, where he met fellow Egyptian Alshafe. Indeed the pair became roommates, given they were both from the same North African nation.

Little is known about Al-Danasurt’s past, other than that he left school at 11, he also has a previous caution for criminal damage at Cisswood on April 6 2025.

However, jurors were oblivious to him being wanted for murder.

Details of Al-Danasurt’s criminal past emerged at a plea hearing in November last year, ahead of the trial, but the judge withdrew the evidence from the case after his defence team contested the conviction.

But his defence barrister said it was in fact his brother who had the conviction for murder, not him.

They added that the UK Government’s assessment of Egypt is that a person who is openly critical of the government is likely to be at risk of serious harm.

As a result, the evidence was not heard by jurors during the trial because of the dispute.

Yesterday, prosecutor Hanna Llewellyn-Waters KC told the court there were ‘ongoing inquiries at a very senior level’ about Al-Danasurt’s crimes abroad.

The trio will be sentenced on July 15.

The trial heard Alshafe’s asylum application had been refused on the day of the attack, although he claimed in court he did not know this prior to the group’s outing.

The trio then filmed themselves getting ready then behaved like a ‘predatory pack’ after spotting the drunk victim as she staggered along the promenade when she became separated from her friends after a night out.

Approaching her in the street at around 5.45am on October 4 last year, two of the men engaged her in conversation, and just four minutes later they could be seen on CCTV camera walking her towards a ramp down to the beach.

The woman – who cannot be named – was then led behind a Beach Patrol shack and, as she drifted in and out of consciousness, Ahmadi and Alshafe brutally raped her.

The pair were joined by Al-Danasurt who filmed her on his phone, laughing and repeatedly calling her: ‘Dirty b****, dirty b****.’

At one point he grabbed hold of her face, forced open her mouth and spat in it while encouraging his friends to do the same.

CCTV footage shown to the jury showed the group chatting up and groping other women throughout the night, including a friend of the woman they raped.

Prosecutors said they had not seen their victim as a human being but as a piece of ‘meat’.

Giving evidence, the woman told the court: ‘I was begging them to stop and they wouldn’t.

‘Every time I close my eyes I can see them laughing at me. Every night it bothers me.

‘They thought it was funny. It wasn’t consensual at all. They have literally ruined my whole life.

‘I didn’t say they could do that. My skin crawls because of what they did to me.

‘They’re evil and they’ve ruined my life.’

She described herself as ‘paralytic drunk’ and said she had no recollection of how she came to be on Brighton beach.

In one clip, Alshafe could be seen speaking to an unknown blonde female in Horizon nightclub in the early hours of October 4.

As she could not speak Arabic and he could not speak English, the pair communicated via the Google Translate app.

In a series of texts she asked him where he was from and told him he was welcome in the UK but questioned his motive for coming to the country.

She asked him what his ‘goal’ was for the future and how he saw his life panning out in Britain.

Reading from the message, Hanna Llewellyn-Water, prosecuting, said the woman asked: ‘Is your only goal here to marry a British woman?’

He replied: ‘I am in this country. I will build my future, meet a woman, get married, have children have and become a citizen.’

Another CCTV clip from earlier in the evening, showed Ahmadi and Alshafe in the foyer of Revolution nightclub.

Here, Ahmadi groped one of the complainant’s friends, putting his arm around her waist.

Meanwhile, Al-Danasurt put his arms around an unknown brunette woman and stroked her bottom.

A video of them in a room at the asylum hotel where they were all living was shown to the jury.

They got a bus back to their hotel after the rape, before filming themselves having a barbecue in the grounds.

In the clip shown to the jury, one of the defendants appears to be smoking while they cook meat on a portable barbeque.

Ahmadi left the hotel the day after the rape and moved to an address in Crewe, Cheshire, where he was arrested on October 12, the court heard.

The move had not been approved by the Home Office and Ahmadi had been marked as ‘absconding, self-departing’ from the accommodation.

On October 13, Alshafe and Al-Danasurt, both of Lower Beeding, near Horsham, were arrested by police at their hotel.

Police on Thursday praised the victim for her bravery in coming forward.

Al-Danasurt told the trial he knew what he was witnessing was ‘haram’ – forbidden by Islamic law – and wanted to document it by filming it on his mobile.

In a police interview recorded nearly two weeks later, Al-Danasurt said he had no role in arranging or encouraging the rape.

He said: ‘The video is there, you have seen it, they were raping her in the video. I was in shock, so I started recording what I was seeing.’

Asked why he laughed and zoomed in while he was filming, he said: ‘I didn’t mean anything at all.

‘I do not remember, I just wanted to capture them all together.’

Prosecutor Ms Llwellyn-Waters said: ‘There’s lots of different types of sex, you were witnessing a rape.’

Al-Danasurt, who used an interpreter to give evidence, replied: ‘That’s what I saw. Rape to me is sex.’

The jury deliberated for 16 hours and 28 minutes before finding Al-Danasurt guilty of four counts of rape, with Ahmadi and Alshafe found guilty of two counts of rape each.

All three defendants are now deemed foreign national offenders, meaning they can be considered for deportation.

However, there are fears they may seek to appeal the decision on Human Rights grounds.

Border Security and Asylum Minister Alex Norris said: ‘The perpetrators have now been rightly convicted, and justice has been delivered by the courts.

‘Once sentencing has taken place, we will move to deport them off British soil.’

Foreign sex offenders are now excluded from refugee protections, meaning any future asylum claim will be denied.

Sussex Police Detective Chief Superintendent Richard McDonagh said: ‘These three predatory men took advantage of an extremely vulnerable woman, subjecting her to a prolonged, harrowing ordeal.

‘I do not underestimate the strength and courage it required to report this to the police and support the investigation as she dealt with the lasting impact of that morning’s incident.

‘Thanks to this woman’s resolve, we have been able to bring her attackers to justice.’

Holly Morton, deputy chief crown prosecutor from the Crown Prosecution Service, said: ‘This was an utterly appalling and violent attack on a woman unable to consent to any sexual activity.

‘These men targeted her in a cynical, predatory and callous way, dragging her to a secluded spot, before repeatedly raping her for their own sexual gratification.

‘None of us can begin to imagine what the woman went through that night. She described drifting in and out of consciousness and hearing the men laughing.

‘Thanks to the bravery of the victim in reporting what happened to her that night, we have been able to bring these dangerous men to justice and ensure that they cannot target women again.’

It is not the first time an asylum seeker with a criminal past has given fake details to immigration authorities upon arrival in the UK.

Afghan national Lawangeen Abdulrahimzai was jailed for life with a minimum term of 29 years after he murdered aspiring Royal Marine Thomas Roberts in Bournemouth in 2022.

Abdulrahimazi arrived in Britain on a ferry in 2019 posing as a 14-year-old orphan, when he was actually a 19-year-old fugitive wanted by Serbian police for killing two people with a Kalashnikov assault rifle.

His criminal background only became known after he was arrested for stabbing Mr Roberts.

Another, Palestinian national Abdulkarim Al-Gassas, arrived in the UK in March last year on a small boat, seeking asylum and claiming to be ‘a victim of Hamas’.

He was put up in an asylum hotel.

But the Mail on Sunday revealed Al-Gassas was also known as Abu Wadee, a prominent member of the so-called ‘tyre-burning unit’ – a militant group of Palestinian extremists who regularly hurled fire-bombs and rocks at Israeli forces manning the border with Gaza, before the outbreak of war.

In one sickening video, posted on his Facebook page, he was filmed calling for Allah to ‘punish (Jews) completely’ and ‘kill them one by one’.

He was later charged with entering the UK illegally, jailed and deported.
