‘Explosions’ heard as thick plumes of smoke billow close to Trafford Centre
Thick plumes of smoke have been seen billowing near to the Trafford Centre this afternoon as a fire breaks out in what appears to be a warehouse or industrial building in Trafford Park
A massive blaze has erupted in Trafford. Dense clouds of smoke have been spotted rising near the Trafford Centre this afternoon (April 24). The fire seems to be originating from a warehouse or industrial facility in Trafford Park.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage. Several eyewitnesses have contacted the Manchester Evening News about the inferno.
One said: “Big cloud of smoke near Trafford Centre/ Trafford park just wondered if you had any info as to want it is.” People on social media have reported hearing explosions.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for further details, reports the Manchester Evening News. Part of Asburton Road West has been closed near Broadoak Industrial Estate.
