Ronnie O’Sullivan anger clear as star crushed by John Higgins in World Championship decider
Ronnie O’Sullivan made his frustration clear as he was knocked out of the Snooker World Championship in the second round by John Higgins on Monday afternoon
Ronnie O’Sullivan made his frustration clear during his second-round exit at the Snooker World Championship.
‘The Rocket’ lost a nail-biting final frame shootout against longtime rival John Higgins, with the Scot winning 13-12 at the Crucible.
O’Sullivan had his chances to seal the game but one miss in particular on a crucial red in the deciding frame saw him thump the table in anger as Higgins returned to secure victory. Higgins opened the door to O’Sullivan when he made a heavy contact with the cue ball, seeing his rival return to the table requiring 57 with 59 points remaining – but O’Sullivan was unable to make the shot.
Higgins was able to hold his nerve and O’Sullivan shook hands with his opponent with only snookers required to save the frame.
O’Sullivan’s wait for a record eighth world title continues after Higgins came from 6-2 and 9-4 down to book his spot in the next round.
