Manchester United are sporting a different shirt sponsor for their Premier League clash with Brentford, replacing Snapdragon with the (RED) charity logo
Here’s everything you need to know about Manchester United’s strip for their Premier League clash against Brentford:
- Sponsor logo switch: Manchester United are wearing a different shirt than normal against Brentford in the Premier League on Monday. The Snapdragon logo, which has adorned the club’s strips since 2024, is missing for the Old Trafford encounter.
- Charitable collaboration: In its place, United’s players are sporting shirts featuring ‘(RED)’ across the front. This forms part of a charitable alliance, with the arrangements revealed earlier this campaign.
- What does (RED) do: (RED), which includes U2 frontman Bono amongst its co-founders, generates funds to combat health issues, including the battle against AIDS. The organisation has amassed over $800million (£590m) to date for the global fund and assisted more than 350million people.
- Charitable auction: Strips worn by United’s starting XI and substitutes will go under the hammer on MatchWornShirt, with bidding concluding on May 2. The auction will provide supporters with an opportunity to secure a unique keepsake while backing worthy causes.
- A unique opportunity: “These shirts represent the very best of football – moments on the pitch transformed into meaningful impact off it,” MatchWornShirt co-founder Tijmen Zonderwijk said. “By bringing fans closer to the game they love, we’re turning that passion into something bigger, helping to raise critical funds and awareness for life-saving global health programmes around the world.” Supporting valuable causes: “This collection shows how purpose-driven partnerships can turn the power of sport into real-world impact, ” said Kate Charles, Managing Director of (RED). “Each shirt tells a story from the pitch, while also helping to fund life-saving global health programs in communities where they are needed most.”
- Man United team news: On the team news front, United are without Matheus Cunha, Lisandro Martinez and Leny Yoro. However, Patrick Dorgu returns on the bench for the first time since January
- Brentford team news: England international midfielder Jordan Henderson is unavailable after missing Brentford’s last two games through injury. Rico Henry and Vitaly Janelt miss out but they – and Henderson – are closing in on returns.
