An alleged terrorist with a history of violence was pictured with a knife before stabbing two Jewish men in Golders Green, sparking a national security meeting
- A chilling photo has been released showing a suspect who is alleged to have stabbed two men in a terrifying terror attack. The image shows the 45-year-old nonchalantly strolling down a North London street while wielding a large knife.
- Two Jewish men, aged 34 and 76, were the victims of the stabbing which took place in just four minutes on Wednesday morning. Police have now officially classified the double stabbing as a terrorist attack.
- The suspect was tasered and arrested at around 11.15 am by two brave police officers. Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley revealed the attacker has a history of mental health struggles and severe violence.
- Both victims are currently in a stable condition while receiving treatment in the hospital. The incident has led to urgent calls for much tougher action against antisemitic violence in the UK.
- Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis has named the two injured men as Nachman Moshe ben Chaya Sarah and Moshe Ben Baila. He shared their names on social media to encourage the community to support them.
- Distressing video footage shows a man wearing a kippah being lunged at by the attacker while waiting at a bus stop. Another clip captured the moment police confronted the knifeman in the middle of the road.
- Sir Mark Rowley praised his officers as “extraordinary” for tackling a man they believed could have been carrying an explosive device. Despite the praise for his team, the Commissioner faced public calls to resign during his visit to the scene.
- Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has called an emergency Cobra meeting to deal with the fallout of the stabbing. She promised that the Government would do everything possible to ensure the safety of the Jewish community.
